Need help: "Reading content..." ... stuck on loading screens.
Hello there,
So, as the title of this thread says, I am continuously stuck on the loading screen.

It started happing today after a solid 3-4 days of care-free fun.
I'll be transitionning from one zone to another, and the game will go into the loading screen (fade in, loading bars ...) then once complete, will just stay stuck @ 100% on "Reading content...".

I have googled the issue, have had a look at the forums, no answer.
Please help !!

It happens to the best of us. I run windowed so I also see "AoC Not Responding". All you can do is dump the game and restart it. When you log back in you'll be in whichever new spot you were trying to get to.

Seems to happen more in certain zones. Was getting it in the Tant Noble District for awhile and now don't see it.

Well, it's probably unrelated, but I went from dx10 down to dx9 and the issue hasen't occured once since, when it would happen like every hour or so before ...

On the launcher will be a spot that says 'verify files' hit it and let it look for what's missing.

I'll echo P5yKO, I found that I couldn't get decent frame rates using DX10, when back to DX9 and I'm getting over 100 fps.

Everything seems to work better for me in DX9 even on my new gaming PC.

I have the same problem but I already play with DX9. Now it won't let me into the game at all. Always stuck at reading content.

Same, got stuck, killed the game, and now i can't login on that character anymore. Reverifying files now, hopefully that does it...

...:steamthis::steamthumbsup::steamthumbsup::steamhappy: .....oh and after so many tries of trying to login and having to force game to close through steam, it causes corrupt data and have to go to steam/settings and do a file verification. If it finds bad files it will redownload some data to repair. This seems to also be a "recurring thing".

i wish somebody would rebuild this game using a better engine, taking it from 32 to 64bit. Just plane old making it playable period. I have a chest full of games an none of them lock up everytime they load into another instance or lock up at login screen. Wished i had played this years ago with my old pc using the 32bit os. Would prob run better on what the game was designed for maybe ? I actually play this game now more than i do any of the other ones. Every now and then you find an old gemstone and find out its worth resetting it into a new fitting.
