This took about 91 hours. I beat the game in 40.
And it wasn't even worth it.

Christ, my end game party was all B's and C's. I didn't even HAVE any A's, S's, or X's.

Dracky, a RANK G, can become a busted Zam powerhouse with proper planning and synth chaining. Rank means absolutely nothing in this game and it's disappointing.

Did also do a all Zombie playtrough.
Half my Team was D Rank or lower.
Because scouting became meaningless in that run i only needed 23h.
If u know what to look out for the game becomes realy easy.
Yeah once I figured out talents are what you need, not monsters, I pushed thru to the end game. I also felt kinda cheated as far as immersion and experience go.

Hell, in the first game it actually does matter which monsters you have. I think I had 2 Darkdriums (equal to Nokturnus) and something else really good, and their stats were awesome. Final battle was a tough one anyway.
But also you could breed the best skills on whatever you want with the first game.
40 hours of content for 25 bucks on sale seems liike a good deal to me

Kind of.
I still think the main story is boring. And long before the 40 hour mark I was tired and just trying to finish. Then I went back a month later our of sheer stubbornness to get every monster.
Its like Pokemon. GOTTA BREED EM ALL!

But yeah on sale this is a good one, especially if you like the battle system and dont mind grinding.

I'd say I'm fairly happy with the game for what I paid, I'd like some more synth options like more evolving and combination talents along with new monster combinations at some point, maybe an expansion with the additional content and some new bigbad and new lands
Yeah I got almost every talent for the sake of completeness but once I figured out all I actually need is a handful of strong attacks the game turned boring.
I already discovered a great way to start efficiently. You can find slimes and vegandragons in the very first area, they combine to make a slime dracky which has shallow breaths, and thats a great talent for the early game. AND it turns into deep breaths very easy, which is good for most of the mid game.
Then all you gotta do is level up AND synth for stronger monsters and you are well on your way to success.
I'll try to see how speedy and efficient I can be when I restart the game.
In a year.
I'm burned out for now!
