A bit confusing, i think it needs a bit of a tutorial..

I really wanted to like this game, but I sadly can't recommend it. First half is good, it did a great job at creating an unsettling atmosphere to keep you on edge. Breaking the game, taking notes and solving puzzles to unravel the game's true colors was initially pretty fun, but it does get a bit tedious later on as the game lacks variety with puzzles as they are mostly codes. The story is okay, it was decent enough to keep me going but honestly nothing special. The use of scattered audio logs as storytelling has been done a thousand times over too.

The worst offender is the cheap jumpscare fest it devolves into in the second half of the game. Jumpscares are okay when they're used sparsely, but the game starts using them as a crutch for scares to the point of annoyance. It's nothing but jumpscares, over and over and over. Combine this with the boring gameplay loop of repeatedly hiding for up to 5 minutes at a time while you solve the 50th keypad code and wait for the enemies to **** off so you can progress and it's tedious and irritating. It's neither fun nor scary anymore.

And then this is followed up with a frustrating, run of the mill 'horror' gameplay section where you need to push 20 buttons under a time limit while SCARY guys chase you and flash SPOOKY pngs on the screen and scream, all while obnoxiously loud music blows out your ****ing eardrums and this is the point I'm completely turned off of the game because it's just a chore to play now and all the tension is gone.

It's interesting at first, but it falls apart and becomes a cookie cutter indie "horror" game. It's disappointing. You are better off watching a video instead of playing this game.
