Almost 50 hours in and I can honestly say, I've encountered more Master rank players than newer players. Please do not buy this game unless you're willing to get destroyed for 500+ hours straight before you're even allowed to learn the basic fundamentals and character knowledge checks. Otherwise its a meat grinder for noobs. Tekken is infinitely more noob friendly because of the matchmaking in that game as bad as it is. Day 2-3 and D rank players with 5 games played are doing the most optimized combo's and whiff punishing you for half your health. The community in this game is absolutely brutal. The only way I'd ever recommend this game is if you played the previous one and have at least 1,000+ hours minimum. Smurfing is a huge issue here. Now with the bad out the way, when the game does eventually match you with someone who's actually and genuinely new at the game its surprisingly fun. But its not enough to keep my interests.

This game is terrible. ignore my playtime as steam didn't record my over 800+ hrs of playing this game as a f2p user

They run on FOMO as there are time limited costumes for your characters that are ONLY available via Battle Pass so if you miss them you won't ever get them again

Also the paid DLC costumes on steam? You can gain them for free in-game making them not worth spending real money to get unless you don't wish to grind and play the game

Character balance is atrocious but that comes expected in fighting games where some characters shine better than others

System mechanics in placed are atrocious and incentives people to mash as much as possible. Said system mechanics even bleed in character balance as some universal tools in the game are not made equal per character as some characters receive much greater reward than others.

Season 2 will NOT make this game any better in my opinion but we shall see

Overall if you're looking for a fun fighting game it's better to look elsewhere

Vastly preferred the original. I do appreciate the F2P model they offer for this one but the gameplay is not for me.

Honestly one of the best modern fighting games, easy to pick up for almost anyone but still has some hard-to-master elements. 8.5/10 game, will prob be 9/10 with more DLC
