Yeah i kept trying to make it in the app. The first part is inventory only, the next step is app only.

This is the detailed help text in the task list for the "Making Copies" task. Step 2 uses the build app as stated, everything else is done using the inventory combine method.

Step 1: Make a wax mold
- Find a candle in the Dining room
- Find a lighter in one of the kitchen drawers
- Use the cornstarch on the soap
- Light the candle
- Use the lit candle on the soap

Step 2: Make a key mold
- Find some clay in the garage
- Find a metal box on a shelf in the garage
- Use the build app to combine the clay, metal box, and wax key

Step 3: Get some molten metal
- Find a crucible in the garage
- Find some flatware (fork, spoon, knife) in the kitchen drawers
- Use the flatware on the crucible
- Use the full crucible on the grill in the backyard

Step 4: Create a copy of the key
- Use the crucible with molten metal on the key mold

Yeah, this would have taken me freaking hours or not even at all with the complexity of the steps. I got stuck in the mothers bathroom after the shower because I couldn't access the phone for the hints or directions. I had to use task manager to get me to quit the game.

If you have the mold and the molten metal, just combine the 2 in your inventory. Grab one and use it on the other item.

I'm stuck in Devons room and can't make the key. Can't pull up my phone, and can't combine. Saw the latest update and decided another play was due, and never had this issue.

If you are stuck in Devon's bathroom, then you should only need to use the key on the soap to make the impression. Making a copy of the key comes later in the game.

In your inventory just click on the key then click on the soap with the key. That will combine the 2 items making an impression of the key in the soap. You should then be able to grab your clothes and exit the changing room.

I eventually got it, I was trying to combine everything since I had everything but it wasn't, then remembered I had to do the rest at the grill.
