If nostalgia overrides your ability to be critical then I only recommend buying on sale. For all intents and purposes, this is the same version of the game you played 20+ years ago. There are no noticable or impactful content additions or upgrades to this game as compared to the original or recent editions of Crusaders. It is offensive. Personally, I was hoping for at least minimal improvements to controls/hotkey functionality that would make gameplay more manageable. Instead, you get a new milquetoast campaign that any user can create.

Dude wtf is this... There is no custom battles, or skirmishes, or the classic trail where you have nothing and the AI has nothing and you build. It's like all prebuilt missions and sieges. None of the developers thought that the most played features in Stronghold Crusader should be in the Definitive Edition. It feels more like an unfinished edition. I still play the old stronghold, its better than this.
