there even are a lot of people who say that firefly should stop making 3d games and start making the new stronghold games 2d again.
now i personally prefere 3d games (for me stronghold 2 is the best stronghold game to date) and thankfully firefly said in the past that thair new games will remain 3d.
but this is a definitive edition, not a remake, its in the same vein as the age of empires 1 and 2 definitive editions which also did not turn the games into 3d games.
3- stronghold 2
its great game I love economic aspekt of the game and the number of troops and now to make HUGE ECONOMY you need actually be good at the game not like that you are just placing a lot of buildings and selling iron the campaigns are great but the next ones are even better
2- stronghold warlords
its so good. the new mechanics with warlords and unit colision are very good for the game
we have very good new troops like monk's (shut up they were in older strongholds but they work difirent in this game) we also have general and samurais (I love them they are so usefull) they could add more bots for skirmish but existing ones are very good and actually they are very balanced they also the unit collision makes the game so much more clean becouse in past games the more grouped units would won now its not the case
and warlords system is so good that adds anotcher lair of strategy into the game
and then you have probaly one of the best stronghold games campaigns
I mean I can ritually play using chingis chan's horse archers
and the economic campaign is second best economic campaign
1- obviously its STRONGHOLD CRUSADER
that was my childhood and I love that game its just has something in it I mean the skirmish mode was so mind blowing for me when I was younger like I loved how caliph screams at you ,,INFIDEL" when you are attacking him and the skirmish trail is also very good and challenging and then you have historical campaings that I kinda like
like that mission when you are charassed by horse archers and you need to produce the bread and keep your town alive or that mission where you need to fight the snake and then you get rushed by attack fo slingers and slaves
or that mission where you have 2 pigs and they are attacking you at once in one moment of this mission
or the first mission of the first campaign where you need to kill al the slingers to take control in town so you can collect gold they are stuck in my head for so long
also the new units are such nice upgrade to the unit roster like the horse archers and assasins became fan fairvrouts and the game really shines in terms of the new vibe
you have that buityfull desert and the economy is so much faster so the game feals really much more fast paste its so great I HOPE THAT THEY WILL MADE DEFINITIVE EDITION LIKE THEY ARE DOING WITH THE STRONGHOLD 1 NOW
This doesn't look good to me, idk. All they did was upscale the textures and add the ability for 4K screens.
We both know 3D is superior, the only problem are the devs who apparently suck at it.
Still bad :/
If they did a Remake of this game they could add different workbenches that you can build and craft new items for your units.
Mounts would also be included, horses, dragons, etc
First of all: there are plenty of 3D games on steam, but Firefly in particular isn't exactly known for having much luck with it.
There are fantastic 2D and 3D games on steam. Usually studios do best by sticking to what they are already good at, a switch from one style to the other often leads to losing your already established fanbase.
Besides, was there really a reason to revive a 2023 topic?
