MDK 2 HD keyboard configuration - crash to desktop

Whenever I tried to edit the controls of Max or Hawkins ingame in the options menu, the game crashes to desktop. This does not happen when I configure controls for Kurt. The crash always happens when I click on Max oder Hawkings in the options menu. No message or error, I'm directly thrown back to desktop.

Does anybody else experience this? Any fix available?

The developer knows about this problem but they are not going to do anything about it.

Hey there. I know this discussion is a bit old already, but maybe it would be helpful to someone.

I found a [fairly simple] fix for the controls crash to desktop: When in the default controls menu, before modifying Max' or Hawkins' controls scheme, select the controls default configuration #2 [the lowest button above "BACK"]. After that, you can modify the controls for all three characters.

I found this thread becaust this game is on sale and I was doing research on wether it is feasable to purchase this game.

This forum link returns with an error 404. Not a good sign

It looks like they are trying to remove all critisism of this games problems, from the beamdog forums. Thank god I do research before buying a game. What I have heard makes me want to AVOID THIS TITLE, LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
