What can anyone say about this game that hasn´t already been said. It might seem like everyone, including myself, is doing tricks on Kojima´s corndog, but this is genuinely one of if not the best videogame I have ever played in my life. Kojima makes my snake go solid.

You ejected the first bullet by hand, didn't you? I see what you were trying to do, but testing a technique you've only heard about in the middle of battle wasn't very smart. You were asking to have your gun jam on you. Besides, I don't think you're cut out for an automatic in the first place; you tend to twist your elbow a little to absorb the recoil. That's more of a revolver technique

What a thrill...

Firstly, I'm a long time metal gear fan, played the games on console before, you know the usual spiel. Listen, I got this on sale and played it and had a good time reliving mgs 3, but this game is too unoptimized to recommend in this state. I played through the full game with little to no frame drops, but by the end for both the escape section with Eva through the jungle, and the final fight with the boss, I would say the game ran from 15 to 25 frames max, it butchered the finale of the game. Please, as it is, take my advice, emulate it, play on console, even play the 3ds port, but not this port, not as it is now and will probably continue to be.

The game it self is amazing and a great evolution of the game play of one and two, i wouldn't recommend this as your first metal gear solid game but the game is incredible, this version of the game does have some downsides like the slowdown due to the animations being tied to the game running at 60 fps (if konami fixes that it would make this the best way to play the game) but it is the easiest way to obtain the game so its good in that regard, some of the boss fights are a little confusing to fight when going for a non-lethal run, but they aren't unfair. 8/10 great game would recommend

This is truly a timeless game. I've played it before on the PS2 when I was a teenager. Years later, this game still holds up really well, and even better than I remembered.

The Master Collection version adds an upscaled version and also the original one. You can also upscale or play the in-game movies in the original or upscaled version. It doesn't change much, but the game looks way sharper, and the blur you might feel while playing in the original resolution is gone. But, for nostalgia, the original resolution is there. A CRT filter would be nice, though.

As for MGS3 itself: it's videogame at its best: memorable boss fights, difficult situations that make you think, there are many ways to approach your game: full stealth, full combat, ranged, melee, stealth/combat mix, lethal, non-lethal... It all depends on you, your playstyle and the difficulty you want to have with the game. But, the best experience is to try to be stealthiest you can, as this is the core of the Metal Gear Franchise.

Very easy and easy are for people who have little skill with videogames or want to play for the story.
Normal is good for newcomers in the Metal Gear franchise or stealth games.
Hard is just perfect challenge for experienced players who want to have a good difficulty, with just a little bit of frustration and a rewarding experience.
Extreme and European Extreme are only for the true hardcore Metal Gear players. It's very frustrating and punitive.

Controls are a bit confusing for today's standards, but you get used to them really easily after a few minutes into the game. Read the game manual before in case it's your first time.

I said it's videogame at its best, but it's also absolute cinema. You know these over-the-top spy films with very iconic characters, exciting and emotional moments, but also a well-dosed comedy and romance? Well, make it double, turn it into a videogame, add Kojima's genius and madness, put great characters with amazing development arcs, cinematographic scenes that will make you think "this is so beautiful". And, well, it's beautiful for PS2 standards and also a game that doesn't look bad at all nowadays, and has an amazing atmosphere with its piss filter and amazing soundtrack. I've never had such a good time climbing a long ladder as in this game, just so you know how amazing it is.

One just can't miss playing Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater if you're a: stealth game enthusiast, a Kojima fan, a MGS fan, a hardcore gamer, a casual gamer, a cinema fan, a spy movies fan, an action movies fan, a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (yes, this game is a lot like Jojo), and someone familiar with pop culture references (they will appear once in a while in conversations in the radio), someone who likes unique games with good identity.

Avoid this game if you: hate good stories; don't like single player games; hate good character arcs; take yourself too seriously and will not accept a bit of fantasy, sci-fi and some corniness in a somewhat realistic setting; play just adrenaline-fueled games; hate unique bosses and would rather play something that doesn't make you think a bit; don't like MGS at all. If more than two apply to you, you might not like MGS3, but you may still like it anyway.
