You know, I went into this game thinking, "sure, why not? it looks funny and the cute furry women make me feel things and I'm a bit of an RPGVxA nerd who goes awooga when I see good usage of the engine and scripts".

I left with far more than I expected.

- The visual art is phenomenal, from the key arts to the UI elements to the area visual design and pixel art. Uncanny Valley in particular is an absolute masterpiece!!
- The OST is stellar.
- The dungeon design is so good, ESPECIALLY the main desert dungeon.
- The gameplay mechanics are fairly unique, and none of the characters feel weak. Although Allie is always the GOAT.
- The difficulty is finely tuned for a game that isn't really trying to be extremely challenging, but isn't always super easy either. (bigby)

- The CHARACTER WRITING IS BEAUTIFUL. The depictions of love and conflict between the party, the way everyone gets enough character development to have a sense of individualism, the chemistry of the main party is actually unbreakable.

I adore everything about this game and it's actually given me inspiration to get back into RPGVxA dev honestly

I was gifted this a while ago and oh my god this is genuinely a very good game. It actually surprised me a bit for how well in-depth a lot of systems in this game are. Even if you think you're not the target audience for this game it can still be a great game. It was a fun time to play & finish at the very start of a new year and also while dealing with a week of sick issues.
The main character is a fox and a healer, foxes are one of my favorite animals and I main healers in plenty of games. Also there's a NB plant person who becomes pretty major NPC near the end of the game (but not too much).
The gameplay is very simple turn-based game but there's a very simple yet deep mechanic on the kissing buffs and the tomes, and all of the characters and enemies are pretty balanced but there's some things that can cheese many fights. The tomes however are not balanced, and its easy to see who to give what tomes to and some become outdated later on, but sometimes I like to switch things up a little. Dungeon design and aesthetics is also really amazing, I really enjoyed the look of Uncanny Valley. The story is also amazing, it has a lot of silliness mixed with drama and angst and I'm always a sucker for those kinds of things. I enjoyed Melody and Allison's relationship, and there is also some other relationship dynamics with the later characters and NPCs later on in the game as long as you do the sidequests.
There's one thing about the balance thing is that stacking buffs to Allison works wonders from early to late game, she's a little bit busted when it comes to that, though. Also Magical Girl is a tome that usually carries Melody through the game, but I've found that using that bracelet Noel gives you at the end and the Reaper book from the secret robot dungeon together pairs very nicely with her, as Chronomancer, Bard (also has debuffs) and Faith's Barriers usually does the trick for AoE heals and preventing too much damage in the 1st place near the endgame.
