The quicksave is where Im at.. Ive had the game glitch out twice, the first time basso and the girl didnt move out of the room, and the second time the above happened.
so no bug as far as I can tell, just go grab the loot in the upper bedrooms and you'll be good.
well anyway, thanks for the help, if I run into any more problems and it becomes an issue, Ill make a post on the t2fix ttlg thread.. Ive not had this issue with any of the previous versions as far as I can tell.. this is my first time using 1.27c, and its on a fresh install of thief
Edit: Also, to clarify something... isnt the game usually supposed to fail if you call basso out before completing the rest of the mission? even if I had missed the loot, the game should still have ended with a fail
I imagine the cause is same old story; that those who make game "fixes"/"patches" actually create other bugs when they're mending original bugs. Very annoying, as I have spent a lot of time completing everything in the level carefully!
Mission fails if you don't collect all loot and allow basso to collect the girl.. Once they make it back to the gate, the mission ends with a fail weather you finished looting or not.
Your not proving anything if the fix in the first place is to restart the game and/or load a save... What are you gonna come back with, "works fine for me".. Right.. It's definately a bug of sorts.
and yes, if something works for 99.99% of users, then it can be considered working. from my experience, if something does not work in a weird way, 99.99% of times the user is doing something odd, like messing around with vsync and physics timings, running the game from an unsupported location or similar.
that, of course, does not mean you cannot be the one person on the planet that did not do anything unusual and his game still glitched out somehow. but the chances are low.
Nobodys saying the game sucks, this must just be that 0.01% chance the game bugged out.. You can debate all you like that the game has never failed to work for you and that there can't be an issue here, but that doesn't mean bugs can't occur on the odd chance, beit from different system specs or some windows update or perhaps rng of sorts.. Who knows.. The fact of the matter is, is that it has happened.
Also as i stated before, reloading the game fixed the issue for me.. The issue being a missing basso.. As if he fell through the floor or something, or just disappeared.. And the issue of the game not registering them entering the exit level trigger (which should happen regardless of completing the loot run, mission should end with either a win or fail once they make it back to the entrance)
