I forgot how bad Four Kings fight is...

The biggest enemy in the 4K fight is your own depth perception.
I'm constantly wiffing attacks cause I can't tell how close they are, and constantly getting hit cause I can't tell how far they are from me.
Even something simple like a slightly glimmering shadow, or anything. They just look like flat black spikes floating around a void. Could be 2ft away, could be 50ft away, no way to tell.

not sure if you're joking but ive unironically beaten das in like every way you can save for the most elite challenge runs lol. you really are just bad at the game

You aren't wrong. I feel like they could've improved the models a little bit so you could tell where they were. My eyes are crap(and I really feel it in that fight), but I use the Server, so I have big sweeping attacks, thank god.

4 Kings is honestly the worst boss in the original Dark Souls, and that includes the bed of chaos. At least with that you can just firebomb cheese your way past it. 4 Kings is just a pure DPS check with the worst boss run-back in the game.

I mean, using the runback from the darkroot basin isn't too bad considering you can safely run past all the enemies.

4K is for sure not the best, or even mid-tier
But Bed Of Chaos is not only the worst boss created for ANY souls game, but I would put it in the Top 10 of worst video game bosses of all-time. It is a shameful display of design incompetence, and that it was never adjusted or fixed in any way makes it even worse.
BoC is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful in every single way

Personally, I just think it's an underwhelming gimmick fight. It's bad, but inoffensive. To me at least. It reminds me of a zelda puzzle boss, just done poorly. Even before I knew the speedrun strats for it, I never had that much issue with it.

uh yeah i have lmfao, both in PTDE and remastered. what, are you going off steam achievements? i play/played ds1 on playstation mostly, on pc i mostly mod it. not exactly the most reliable of markers especially when people can just use steam achievement manager to get every achievement in the game anyway lol
