Winter Wonderland update now LIVE!❄️🔴

📢Hello Spiritographers!

We’re happy to share that the Winter Wonderland Update is officially live!

What started as a small seasonal update quickly grew into something much bigger—thanks to the incredible excitement and love from our community. Your enthusiasm inspired us to go all out and pack this update with even more cozy, seasonal magic!

And don’t worry; everything included in this update will be available year-round, so you can enjoy the seasonal vibes whenever you like ❄️✨

NEW SPIRIT:

A brand new Spirit has been added to the Spiritdex! Meet Twintail, the adorable snow fox ready to keep you company this winter season.

NEW FEATURE:

You can now save up to 3 separate loadouts of room AND avatar customization! Time to create your perfect winter cottage vibes without saying goodbye to your favorite spooky room of Halloween!

NEW CONTENT:

A new music playlist is now available, "Tranquil Wonderland", giving major holiday relaxation vibes. Rest assured, it will be available all year long.
2 new soundscapes are now available! There's Gentle Snowstorm soundscape which has additional effects on the weather, and Holiday Melodies
A new "sipping your favorite hot beverage" activity for your avatar. And watch for some Spirits that will join you too!
For your avatar -- 2 new hairstyles and many new holiday themed items including santa hats, holiday sweaters, and more!
For your room -- New holiday themed decorations, fireplace customization, winter scenery backgrounds, and more!
For your Spirits - A handful of new holiday themed skins have been added to Spirits!

QOL/IMPROVEMENTS:

The music player settings are now saved across sessions! Upon logging in again, your last selected playlist, music volume, play/pause, loop and shuffle settings will be carried over. (Keep in mind the web browser settings will not be saved across sessions.)
On Steam Deck, window mode and resolution graphics settings are now set to hardware defaults. Those specific settings are now hidden on the platform to prevent confusion.

BUG FIXES:

Fixed an issue where the game would often take an unreasonably long time to load the first time it opens up, showing nothing but a black screen. (From our testing, loading times should now be at least twice as fast on most hardware.)
Fixed an issue where the to-do list tabs would show up as darkened when selected, and could create confusion to know which was selected.
Fixed an issue with room customization tabs when reopened showing "general" items while the active tab was something else.
Fixed an issue where the pink clouds wallpaper item for the sidewalls was showing up as blue clouds.
Known issue: For some room customization items we've had to reset their purchase state, sorry for the trouble. Those should be: At the desk area: Simple wooden desk - Wood color, Main Wall Decor Brown Gaming Shelves, Main Wall Decor - Witchy Shelves. And at the Baywindow area: Window Curtains, Brown Leaves

We're very excited to reveal our first DLC, expanding on the current bedroom with the Cozy Kitchen!

Remember this: Our DLCs will never include new productivity feature or QOL updates, those would always be added as free updates. Instead, we want our DLCs to be adding to the existing fantasy of Spirit City with new locations, new spirits, and more to discover!

What's next?

Hotfix 1.5.1

It has come to our attention that some users still had difficulties maximizing the game window to take their full monitor after our 1.5.0 update. This update aims at solving that, plus a couple miscellaneous fixes for new content introduced in the Halloween update.

BUG: Fixed an issue where some users could not maximize their game window to take their whole monitor, in windowed mode. This was related to users with UI scaling (not the default 100%) in their display settings in Windows OS.
BUG: Fixed an issue in the Decor menu, where the pink mushroom wallpaper had an incorrectly set icon.
BUG: Fixed an issue in the Wardrobe menu, where buying some glasses item incorrectly set the current equipped glasses.
BUG: Fixed an issue where the default lamp accessory on the bed side table was not free by default.

Halloween update now LIVE! 🎃🔴

Halloween update now live!

📢Hello Spiritographers!

🎃We're happy to announce that our latest free update is now live! 🎃

We originally planned for this to be a very small update. After seeing the community's excitement for Halloween we decided to make a big push to add more! Rest assured, everything will be available permanently so you get the enjoy this all year long!

NEW SPIRIT:

A brand new Spirit has been added to the Spiritdex! Meet Hexwing! This adorable bat is attuned to magic. Once you discover it you'll have the perfect companion to chill with this Halloween season!

NEW CONTENT:

A new Halloween playlist, Spooky Melodies, is now available. The perfect vibes for the month of October! Rest assured, it will be available all year long.
A handful of new Halloween-themed Spirit cosmetics have been added!
New Halloween themed clothing items are now available in the Wardrobe including witch hats and more!
New Halloween themed decorations are available across the room! Including rugs, hanging lights, wall decor options, and more!
5 new fall and Halloween-themed window backgrounds are now selectable.
More Spirit activities have been added! Spirits will now rest on the bed with you. Also, Moonpaw and Lenny can read, and Inkster can write!
Skirt options are now available! For the moment only one length is available, but we hope to add more in the future.
Two new hairstyles are now available!

QOL/IMPROVEMENTS:

In the Wardrobe and Decor menus, opening a new category will automatically scroll into view the equipped item.
On the Steam Deck, clicking on editable text boxes will now automatically prompt the virtual keyboard.
Some text sizes were adjusted for better readability, such as the to-do list tabs, current task preview, and Spiritdex descriptions.
When clicking and dragging to set the pomodoro timer minutes, it will now increment in steps of 5 minutes to make it easier to reach round numbers. The value can still be set to anything in-between when typed.

BUG FIXES:

Fixed an issue where the game's window would not properly maximize and take the whole monitor when using the maximize button, or from selecting windowed-fullscreen in the graphics menu.
Fixed an issue where the game's window would not remember last user-defined size when in windowed mode.
Fixed an issue where the daily completed task bonus would be given even when unchecking an existing task
Fixed an issue where some Spirits could be petted while playing the first-time discovery animation
Fixed clipping issue with Cat Ears and headphones accessories
Fixed clipping issue with long socks in certain activities
Fixed clipping issue with some long hairstyles and hoodies
Fixed clipping issue with Hijab in thick turtleneck sweater

What's next?

After a short break to play some of the other amazing games coming out this month, we'll be jumping on a winter holiday update! We don't want to over-promise so we plan on keeping it small, but look forward to a few new cozy items to help you get into the holiday spirit! ❄️

We're constantly working on QoL improvements and content, so please stay tuned. We always want to be sure things are working before we announce them. We plan to continue to support Spirit City throughout 2025, and we have lots of exciting things planned!

Some additional bug fixes following our big update 1.4, also including a tentative fix to an issue that's been around for a while.

TENTATIVE BUG FIX - Tentatively fixing a rare bug that can happen after power surges or crashes, resulting in players losing their Spiritographer level and Spirit credits, and preventing them from progressing further. If you have been affected by this rare issue, please reach out via our Discord to get assistance!

BUG - Fixed eyes being open too wide in certain activity animations
BUG - Antique Lamp on bed sidetable is now unlocked by default instead of being purchasable, as it's an item used in the default room setup
BUG - Fixed eye movement at bed gaming activity to no longer give the player side eye
BUG - Fixed an issue where the pencil sound effect would trigger for every new letter typed when renaming a to-do list tab, instead of once when text is committed
BUG - Fixed an issue where some checked and deleted to-do tasks would show back up when reopening the game
BUG - Fixed an issue where the Spirit Credits amount shown in avatar and room customization would not update when given Spirit Credits every minute

Hotfix 1.4.1

A couple days ago we released 1.4.0, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive! We're glad this resonates with what our players want. Some of you reported a couple issues that we could fix on the spot, so here's a little patch to fix most of these issues!

Known issue - Some tasks might check/uncheck themselves after selecting a new to-do list tab. This is happening when tasks from previous versions of the game (before 1.4) are still being used. If you're experiencing this issue, simply recreate new tasks instead, and this bug should be gone!

CONTENT - Since some people voiced that the bookshelf didn't match their new asthetic, we quickly added a new bookshelf category to the fireplace area!

Adjustment- Adjusted placement of certain fireplace sidetable items to be more centered on the table
Adjustment - Adjusted Window reading animation to no longer have a pillow as it could not change color
BUG - Fixed an issue where previewing items would not revert to the default or set item for certain room customization categories
BUG - Fixed Bulbee's eyes in alternate skins that were rendering wrong
BUG - Fixed minor texture error on Gaming Desks
BUG - Fixed minor physics glitch with the updo afro hairstyle
BUG - Fixed some new tracks name in the Refreshing Study Sessions playlist
BUG - Fixed some contrast issues with some window backgrounds
BUG - Removed the mirror near the wardrobe area as it would not show an accurate depiction of the room
BUG - Adjusted color of APE-Bit's hands in it's red skin to no longer have blue tint
BUG - Fixed Spirit positions in their discovery sequences when a crafting cart is equipped as the fireplace sidetable

Update 1.4 Now Available!

Hey folks! Today is the day!
We are so excited to drop this update today. Let's get right into it!

New Content

Literally HUNDREDS of new items are now available for room customization! Including items in new categories such as ceiling, wall decors, side tables, and even the scenery outside the window! Customize to your heart's content!
TWO NEW activities such as "Gaming" and "Meditating" which have been highly requested! You can also find more combinations of existing activities for your character all across the room!
TWO NEW SPIRITS, including APE-bit, are available in your Spiritdex! We can't wait for you to reveal them! New Steam achievements have been added for when they are discovered.
A new music playlist is available - Refreshing Study Sessions, specifically tailored for studying/working vibes!
4 new soundscapes are available to help you focus and relax! Drift away to the sounds of Comforting purring, Distant cityscape, Whispering creek and Ocean serenade.

New Features

You can now create multiple lists for your to-do lists! You can create up to 5 lists, rename and reorder them. It's time to sort your work tasks from your personal goals!
Speaking of to-do lists, you can also add a due date for your tasks! Perfect for school or work deadlines, or just for knowing what should be pushed to tomorrow
Some Spirits can now join you in doing some of the activities around the room! If you're lucky, you may find your favorite Spirit doing your favorite activity!

Quality of Life Improvements/Features

The todo list and pomodoro timer widgets are now movable! Adjust their position where you prefer in the screen and create your perfect setup. The todo list is resizable too! If for some reason you lose them from view, you can always reset their positions with a right-click on the UI button, or from the settings menu.
You can now preview items before spending Spirit Credits on them! Good thing, with all the new items coming in!
We expanded on the audio settings in-game so that you can more easily tune down or mute certain sounds!

Balance

You now earn 1 Spirit Credit every minute simply by spending time in-game! Gotta make up for all the new items we just added!

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where the Spirit eyes would weirdly swap images at the end of petting animations
Fixed an issue with "Quick mute all" shortcut where it would not mute all the sounds
Fixed an issue where the progression bar for the spiritographer level could appear to have a weird gradient to it.

First off, the team will be taking some well earned rest. We've been working non-stop on the game since launch, so we'll be taking a couple weeks off before jumping back on more updates.
