EP was the single best FEAR there was, at least imo its pinnacle canon. Fans bash EP cause jin dies oh boohoo... Some chick dies in a horror game, why didn't anyone feel sorry for alma, alice, or all the dozens of other people who got murdered simply cause they went to the wrong job interview? God to criticize an amazing xp like EP for one chick, and this is actually a thing I've seen people bash EP over and over just cause jin dies. I mean what the hell? Its a frickin horror game, no one says a word about holiday getting ragdolled. Just jin cause who cares? I was more disturbed by the prison scenes with alice that was some warped stuff especially if you look in at her, her face looks like she's been beat with a bat.

EP also introduced the best weapons and the best mech (leviathan). FEAR2 introduced mechwarrior rip offs. FEAR2 was a good game though for reborn and a few segments in fear 2 (cargo lift was epic). But compared to 1 and EP, no fear compares.

Holiday was a good person also and that is not true that "no one says a word about holiday getting ragdolled"

Anyway, for me FEAR expansions are cannon, they were released (and i played them) before FEAR 2 and were initially approved by Monolith (FEAR EP for sure).

In my version of FEAR Extraction Point Jin does not die though.

Probably because Monolith didn't make DLCs. Some people think that if addons weren't made by the original creators, they're not canon.

It was a turf war where monolith were not happy that vivendi had rights to FEAR and made content without them. When they gained control for FEAR they had no interest in playing off the story someone else made and instead picked up where they last left off — the first game.

Frankly as good as EP is, the crappy off screen way Jin is offed just sucks and has no impact at all. She deserved more screen time and Monolith obviously thought the same.

Sure, Jin deserves better story and more screen time.
But Monolith did not give that for she after first FEAR.
They do not recognize FEAR 3 also.

Unlike Timegate, Monolith did not even bother to spend time for the Jin and Holiday in their "cannon" FEAR 2.
FEAR Expansions look like a FEAR games, maybe they are not so good though, but FEAR 2 looks like completely different (worse in all aspects) game.

Extraction point is 1000 times better than FEAR 2 and 3, so for me it's canon ^^

its cannon, however, its way worse than original, because of mediocre level design and pacing. Original game have good balance between storytelling, exploration and combat, you never know where and when this things happen. Extraction point have ton of enemies swarming on you and medpack everywhere, at some point its very boring. timegate studio was a very average developer, which is perhaps best known for being responsible for alien colonial marines. It was theoretically made by gearbox, but apparently they did very little with it really, just taking their cut from sega as a middleman (gearbox is a not much better studio)

You know except for Jin dying in EP there's no real reason those expansions couldn't be canon and even then you could potentially chalk up her death to being part of a hallucination sequence if you want to make that stretch. Albeit PM's plot doesn't really contribute to anything that happens afterwards in 2 or 3.

3's supposed to take place like nine months after 1, So it's not even a stretch that EP could still be canon since EP takes place within like the span of a single night right AFTER the events of 1 anyway.

Will you guys get off jin who cares about 1 character? My god how many people died in this?

The canon ended with this title. Most epic ending, left it totally open ended with the replicas fing up stuff. Don't see how that's not better than, baby yoda with PM.

I don't see how ya'll got so attached to jin, I ain't saying I hate the character or like her either. She was cool in fear 1, in fear 3 she just looked like an alyx rip off. And they can have people hanging from meat hooks stuffed in boxes but oh poor jin boohoo!!!

It has nothing at all to do with anyone actually having any sort of attachment to the character as much as her death in EM creates continuity problems with 3.

Also if anything it's whoever WROTE FEAR 3 that seem to be the ones that are far to focused on her.
