can't complete this game....
too much fps drops which makes this game unplayable, the original Fear ran fine, but this DLC runs terrible. I can play Batman Arkham knight in 60 fps so why not this game? If anyone can help out here, i'm playing on 1280x960 but everything looks ugly, I can play at 1080p but I have a ton of stuttering and FPS drop and graphical glitches.

Things I tried:
- File integrity
- Changed config.ini for resolution.
- Turned off force restart.
- Turned down the graphics but found it rather unplayable.
- Set everything to max

edit: I also tried downloading another file which was suggest somewhere on this page but it also didn't work out. The moment the game saved again my fps turned to 20-30 fps.

Did you put it in right folder?

dinput8 needs to go into base folder for FEAR,
and int FEARXP and FEARXP2 folders for two expansions

The dinput8.dll fix does not work for Extraction Point. The only thing that has worked for me is going into Device Manager and disabling all HID-compliant devices. Interestingly enough after launching the game, playing for about 30 minutes, I went back in and started to enable all my HID-compliant devices one at a time and launching the game to test for FPS drops with zero issues. I'm going to be testing more to see if I can narrow it down to the exact problem, but it looks like it's hit or miss. Currently I'm getting anywhere from 150-300 fps wile playing.

It does work. You have to place it into Steam\steamapps\common\FEAR Ultimate Shooter Edition\FEARXP for Extraction Point. There is no reason for it to not work obviously because it's the same... everything, only different .exe to work with. If this fix doesn't work for you in general, even with the original game, that's different.

this expanssion runs like utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at some intervals (metro areas half the time. especially when there's a lot of light effect ), also getting disconnected from server error message at every new map. Really destroys the game for me.

A much belated thank you to this thread. I was having the same issue playing Extraction Point until I made a copy and put it in the expansion folders.

It was no different with me when I first began played the games. FEAR initially ran great, but only for about 10 minutes then it dropped to barely 15 FPS. I had to look on the threads here to know how to fix it.
