I really liked Terra Nil, where you try to restore Earth's ecosystems, so I was also interested in Preserve. Instead of placing buildings, you work with cards. Well, if you're lucky enough to get the right ones. That's the main problem with the game.

The developers clearly tried to make each map balanced, but sometimes you just don't get the cards you need. If you want to complete all the achievements, you might find yourself restarting a map a lot, which can be annoying. This mainly affects the Classic mode. There are also Puzzle levels where you're given a set of cards and Sandbox mode, where you can build whatever you like.

At the time of writing the review, the game offers four different types of biomes. Each one requires a different approach, and you'll need to learn its mechanics to succeed. For example, in Savannah, if you don’t have a river at least 24 tiles long, forget about getting a good score. So you must plan a lot ahead. This biome was hard for me, and also, a large map of the Jurassic world wasn’t easy either. It’s a good game to sharpen your logical thinking.

I wouldn’t call myself a big fan of puzzle games, but I think Preserve has an interesting concept. Mixing card mechanics with puzzles and nature-building creates a refreshing experience that stands out from other titles and the game has good relaxing music.

I like how calm the game is. After a long day, it's a really nice, but still challenging game to play to help relax. I really like the puzzle mode and the weekly challenges.
