LEGO® Batman™: The Videogame

Launching game causes all of my monitors to go black and not detect my PC
As the title says whenever I click launch my monitors go black. My PC still works, but I cannot interact with anything causing me to restart. I have the latest version of Windows, and latest graphics drivers.
I've tried:
Uninstalling reinstalling
Verifying game files
Turning off and on V-Sync
Adjusting the pcconfig file
I got this game on sale and I just want a nostalgia trip. if you have had this issue or know where to find a solution please let me know. Thanks

You have to restart your PC? Did you try Alt-F4 or Alt-Tab to close or tab out of the game? If one of those works, that would at least make the problem easier to deal with while you try to figure it out.

I guess you tried setting ScreenWidth and ScreenHeight in pcconfig.txt? (as suggested in some old posts here)

I think one person posted that their monitor went black when they started the game and it came back if they just turned the monitor off and on again. It's probably a long shot, but it's easy to try (apart from possibly having to restart your PC if it doesn't work).

Having multiple monitors is relatively unusual and there are a number of posts here from people with multiple monitors having problems, so the obvious guess is that the problem is related to that in some way. Maybe the game is trying to run on the "wrong" monitor or something.

In any case, I would try simply turning off the extra monitor(s) and see if that helps. If not, you could go the extra step and disable them in Windows. Even if you don't want to play the game with only one monitor on, I think that would be a useful diagnostic step -- Try to get the game running under simplified conditions (only one monitor). If you can do that, then you can go from there to try to get it working with multiple monitors.

Well my friend you were right on the money. I turned off my monitors and the game booted up. I turned my monitors back on and the game stayed on, but then crashed shorty after I got the bomb suit in the first level. I will keep them off and try again.

Well, that seems like a step in the right direction at least. Good luck. :happymeat:

You my friend are awesome. Turned off 2 of my monitors and turned on V-Sync in game and I have had 0 problems.
