The ring supposed to be in your general items, nowhere else. If you had your inventory full when picking up the quest it probably were dropped on the ground near your feet that moment. Also, might be a stubbit suggestion, but have you checked on your fingers?

It's not in my items anywhere and not where I taked to the rev when he gave it to me, and I know you're just covering the bases but if it were on my finger, I wouldn't get the prompt box telling me to put a ring on :) Hey ho, looks like it's back to the start for me.

You can try this other option...

While I was playing that part I got two ring of the eternal fire... one from the reverend, of course, the other from and old lady in the outskirts...

She is in the group of houses between the INN and the CHURCH following the main road... she'll ask if you have some GULL for his dying son or something like that... give her the WHITE GULL and you'll have the ring she stole from the reverend for not helping her... that way I got both rings... ;)

I've just tried all the women, old and young, on that stretch of road and while I can bribe/gift 2 of them, all I got was tales! Either my game has a glitch with this ring or maybe it's such a complex game that some get choices others don't. It was worth trying anyway, if nothing else, I'm getting quite well known round Vizima :)

Mmm... that's strange, the old woman I told you about looks the same as the ones you can offer gifts for tales or advices on plants(best way to get info in botanics without buying books), anyway there were more than 2... hope you find a solution...

Update on this glitch. I had to restart (coz I'd erased auto save games, touch of OCD :) )
and got the ring this time round! I had to put the ring in the ring/sygil box to wear it, worth knowing. Also, it seems strange that the prof's arrest warrant and 3 sets of dice automaticaly go in my quest items box, yet the ring doesn't?!? Anyway, it was worth starting over coz I got to make love with Triss again, mmm... :) Thanks to all who tried to help me

Sorry bruno. Unless you kept your saved games or can find any of the old women who may have a ring, I'm afraid it's start again. It's not too much of a drag, coz you know where you're going and what to do.:)

Main quest broken, nothing could be worse. I forgot about the golden rule of kepping more than one save file. I guess I'll have to start all over again :(

You have my sympathies bruno! I'm currently doing Witcher 2 and I checked the forums and guides for advice, like ya do. Saw a few posts/guides saying about performance being helped if you rermove all the auto save games, which are many. Foolishly did that, regretted it! I now firmly beleive that if your game allows saves, you should save at every key point, then go thru them carefully, with plenty of time, and remove them judiciously! We live/play and learn heh? :)

Yo, dude you sold it to someone for sure, talk to all the merchant and you will find your ring. I sold it and i bought it back later

That, or your bags were full and it went on the floor. I find it's really, really easy with the amount of stuff to max out the bag slots, and the game doesn't give you the 'inventory is full' message for quest items. I just had that happen with Kalkstein giving me the Golem pith recipe, it went directly to floor. I've gotten paranoid about checking on quest items as soon as they're handed over to be sure I've actually received them.

I had the same issue. Talk to the old lady near a hut on the way to Reverend. She will mention that her son is dying and needs white gull, give her that. She will give you the ring.

Thanks so much for the Eternal Fire ring N°2, from an old lady nammed by "beggar" in these old houses you mentionned. I can't believe you need room in your inventory to really receive the ring from the Reverend ant not even being warned or hear it falling on the ground...

So your also supposed to be able to get Odo's trust by giving him something to drink. I've tried the ales I've had in inventory, but they don't work. Anyone know what drink suits his fancy?
