"My Sticker Book" is a poorly made, albeit mildly charming 2D adventure puzzle game.

What do you do in the game? You move stickers to solve puzzles, effectively eliminating monsters, and progress through a narrative in a 2D platforming style. Movement and jumping are available controls for navigation, but the game is short, lasting only about 10 minutes without saves. So it's not delivering a lot of content, and the whole thing might as well have been done in Adobe Flash or as a browser game (and could have gotten some money from ad impressions that way).

The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs and the latest 3D graphics cards to play 2D games. Even mobile phones and game consoles can do 3D graphics now. There's no excuse.

On pricing and value for gamers, this isn't really free as you're expected to pay up $3 USD to buy cosmetic DLC. Clearly the developer set out to profit from making this game and locking content, even cosmetics, behind DLC while still pretending the game is free is somewhat misleading to gamers.

Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it.

Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it?

Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.

A cute but incredibly short game that only took me ten minutes. The art style and music are lovely and set the perfect tone. The puzzles are easy but clever. My one complaint is lack of sound settings, the game was very loud for me, but that's a minor nitpick and possibly just on my end.

I never found the game scary enough to warrant the psychological horror tag? I love the monster designs but they aren't as scary to me as they are to the child protagonist and that tag definitely gave me false expectations. I found the game charming regardless.
