Today marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy. The invasion was an exceedingly difficult and monumental task that required ample planning and the courage of many. We are reminded of the indomitable spirit of those who braved the uncertain waters of the English Channel to land on the beaches of Normandy. On June 6, 1944, more than 150,000 British, Canadian, and American troops embarked on a mission that would mark a turning point in World War II and forever change the course of history.

The significance of this day cannot be overstated. It was a moment when the tide of war shifted and when the forces of freedom and democracy took a stand against tyranny and oppression. The bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers who fought on that day are etched into the annals of time, a testament to the courage and resilience of the human spirit.

We honour the few who remain and the many who have passed. The veterans who are making their way to Normandy for this major milestone carry with them the memories of comrades lost and battles fought. They represent the living history of a day that saw the largest amphibious invasion in the history of warfare.

While the characters in Classified: France ‘44 are fictional, we want to take the time today to remember those real people who risked it all on the beaches of Normandy 80 years ago. Every year, fewer of those brave soldiers remain. At some point, all will have passed, but we must never forget the sacrifices that had to be made to ensure the restraints imposed by a fascist dictatorship could be unshackled.

I hope this letter finds you well. It’s been a few months since I left England and joined the resistance here in France. I won’t lie to you, it’s been tough. But the guys and gals I’ve been fighting with are just ace! Real heroes, all of them.

Word is that tomorrow’s the big day - D-Day. By the time you read this, hopefully our boys will be deep into Normandy, kicking Jerry’s ass all the way back to Berlin! And I’ll be right there with them!

Today brings the release of Patch 1.03 which is intended as a hotfix for many of the errors reported by the community once Patch 1.02 was released. Thank you for taking the time to inform us of these errors and your patience as we addressed them.

As a note to any console players who may be reading this, currently Patch 1.03 is only available on the PC versions of Classified: France ‘44. We intend to release a version of 1.03 for consoles as soon as it has been given full clearance by our QA teams.

• Fixed an issue that affected older saved data where Mission Tokens wouldn’t spawn on the Campaign Map.
  
• Fixed a crash that would occur when reinforcements entered the map whilst an allied unit had retreated.
  
• Fixed a crash that could occur when an ally died during the enemy turn.
  
• Fixed a crash that would occur when an ally recovered on the same turn a unit with the "Quit Messing About" skill died.
  
• Fixed a crash that would occur if an ally died from enemy Overwatch whilst having AP remaining.
  
• Fixed a crash that would occur if an ally died whilst shooting.
  
• Fixed a crash that could occur if a recovering ally died during the enemy turn.
  
• Fixed a crash that would occur if an ally died before they gained the Defiance buff on the following turn.

• Fixed an issue where the camera could get stuck over a dead allies location when they died whilst running into enemy Overwatch.

Hello Campers,

Today, as well as the Agent Pack release we are also dropping the 1.02 patch across all platforms. For consoles, this means you'll also get the fixes and changes from 1.01 and the below changelog.

It's mentioned in the Mission Changes section, but as another warning, If you have a save midway through one of the missions that have received changes and begin to play from that, you will still have the old layout and changes until you either restart the mission or select the mission again from the Campaign Map. This was done to keep your save files in-tact.

Now, let's get to the notes!

• Updated the Factions Flags to emphasise they are interactable.
  
• Reduced load times for missions

Worth noting - If a mission that has been updated is mid-play you will continue saves with the old layout until it is selected from the campaign map or restarted.

• Getaway - Adjusted enemy start positions, bringing reinforcement positions closer to player start position
  
• Codebreakers - Reduced starting enemy presence
  
• Rapid Raiders - Changed a Sapper to a Rifleman and made the patrol path near the field radio more forgiving.
  
• Killing Place - Reduced subclass difficulty of enemies
  
• Liquidate Agent 15 - Reduced reinforcement intensity
  
• The Haunted Marsh - Adjusted enemy reinforcement positions, reduced subclass difficulty, added medkits and brought player start position closer to MG nests, reducing overall number of enemies
  
• Assassin's Deed - Reduced enemy start count. reduced enemy spawn intensity
  
• Breakout - Reduced subclass difficulty of starting units & reinforcements
  
• Operation Goldfinch - Adjusted Armoured Car position, increased enemy subclass difficulty, adjusted patrol of key carrier, and brought enemies closer to combat area
  
• Lancet - Changed mission type to an ambush mission, reinforcement timer is visible from mission start, adjusted reinforcement position, mission doesn't abruptly end if the player kills all enemies on the map before reinforcements arrive.
  
• Guns at Saint Amar - Adjusted enemy reinforcement position, adjusted enemy squad groupings, increased intensity of infinite reinforcements slightly
  
• The Trenchworks - Adjusted enemy spawn positions
  
• Slay Le Voirloup - Adjusted aggressiveness of enemy units
  
• Vengeance - Increased enemy reinforcement intensity, added additional starting enemy

Injuries at Elite Level

• Cap on injuries to morale lowered from 65% to 50%
  
• Cap on injuries to AP lowered from 8 to 6 AP
  
• Loss of Health per physical injury increased from 20% to 25%
  
• Loss of Morale per physical injury increased from 15% to 20%
  
• Loss of AP per point of fatigue increased from 1 to 2 AP

Campaign Balance

• Reduced victory threshold for Stalemate to 67%.

Weapon Balance

• Nerfed proc chances for Stun, Disorient and Expose
  
• Reduced morale damage output for bolt-action rifles, semi-auto rifles, and M30 Drilling

• Fixed an issue where restarting the mission just after throwing a grenade could trigger a crash.
  
• Fixed a softlocks that could occur when reinforcements with Elite Scout spawned on “Operation Pall Mall”.
  
• Fixed an issue where using an MG Nest whilst a demolition cutscene played caused the HUD to disappear which would then lead to a crash.

PS5 Fixes

• Fixed an issue where loading a Spec Ops mission just after launching the game would sometimes trigger a crash.
  
• Fixed an issue where audio would stutter whilst loading into missions.

Xbox Fixes

• Fixed an issue where the player would be unable to see DLC if installed on the main menu until entering gameplay and returning to the main menu.

Console

• Known issue on the console versions of 1.02 where the armoured cars won't always fire at you.
  
• A crash occurs when reinforcements enter the map whilst an allied unit has retreated.

Patch Notes - Steam Patch - V.1.01

ATTENTION CAMPERS!

Today we bring you our first PC update to Classified: France ‘44 which is our public 1.01 build. This is to address some of the more frequent issues the community have reported since launch, but we intend to deploy a larger update with substantial fixes, balance changes and more closer to the end of April (subject to change).

We’d like to thank everyone who has been engaging in the forums, on our socials and our Discord[discord.gg] for reporting issues and their overall experiences.

NOTE: These changes are not live on console versions, the following changes are scheduled to come to consoles with the 1.02 patch.

• User-created mission saves can now be loaded without triggering a DLC missing error.
  
• Enemy units will no longer instantly disappear on death and will now fade out over a few seconds if the new “Corpse Visibility” setting is off.

• Added new “Corpse Visibility” game option in the settings menu to keep corpses visible and prevent the fading out on death if enabled. Note: Enemies will not react to corpses if “Corpse Visibility” is set to ON.

• The text for the Level 2 Description of the Heavy skill “Bulletstorm” overlaps in French, Italian and German.
