Ladder bug?

was enjoying this, it's pretty nice as it reminded me of the old school Prince of Persia, like DOS version, not the modern ones or the recent one. Then the Ladder strikes! LOL how do i get up on that ladder? obviously it's a bug, it can't be THAT complicated. Also the game said theres controller support but nothing works on my side just Keyboard....

We are thrilled to announce that the moment we’ve all been eagerly awaiting is finally here. The Kickstarter campaign for Emberbane is now live, marking a new chapter in our journey!

Over the past months, we've been hard at work, meticulously crafting a unique gaming experience that blends engaging narrative, captivating environments, and dynamic elemental combat. Emberbane is more than just a game; it's a labor of love, a testament to our passion for the Metroidvania genre, and a homage to the stories and games that have inspired us.

A Hacker Attack to Our Servers

Hey there!

We are deeply sorry to share these news, but our servers got attacked by hackers today. For a limited time, they have changed the store page of our game and changed the assets in it.

But more importantly, they have changed the release date of our game to tomorrow. We have contacted Steam Support to fix it.

In mean time, hackers also disbanded our Discord channel, so we have lost contact within our community and testers. Sadly, it will take some time to recover from that.

Release date is this summer for Early Access as planned. No matter what you see on the store page right now, it is trivial.

In mean time, you can join our new Discord channel to grow our community again. Sorry again for this mess, we are deeply sorry. Hopefully, it will not interrupt development of our game. We are going to release a Steam Demo, planned to be set on February 20.

Demo Feedback - Great Art, Awful Gameplay

What Makes Me Play - Great art style - Fluid in-game animations - Elements concept What I Don't Like Design: - Menu UI and UX should be improved. More contrast on selected UI element color and more readability on the options whether they can be changed or not are needed. - Lack of interaction with most of the elements/NPCs which seem interactable. Controls are lackluster

I felt that I was lacking control over my character throughout the demo and I thought that I just had to get used to it but then I stumbled upon that puzzle in which you have to use fire to open a series of doors. That's where I knew that the controls are a real issue in this game. Did you think that mixing tightly designed platforming sections with such unresponsive controls blends well ? Really cool idea. Fire and whips is a great combo. I only have a few pieces of advice. 1. There's a slight delay between button press and dash activation and doesn't make it feel good. 2. The knockback on attack makes it difficult to string together combos. If this is mitigated later in the game by item/ability that's fine. 3. The wall jump could do with a slightly more generous angle as it gets tiresome during the long ones. 4. In the room with a lot of bats and a drop, I just jumped/fell down and I fe...

Pros: Platforming was really fun. I like the jump off walls especially. Animations felt good. Pixel Art was good. Cons: I hated the combat. It felt like my flow would screech to a halt whenever I encountered an enemy. It took too many attacks to kill them and the push back made it worse. I especially hated running up to an archer, landing two hits before the pushback made me miss the third, and eating an arrow as a result. It wasn't clear to when I was supposed to backtrack and get a new ability and when ...
