content question
So I've watched the trailers a few times and generally I love what I'm seeing, it looks great on its own! But there are 2 things that have me worried a little. One being her boobs prominence in that picture, that feels weirdly unnecessary, is there going to be more of that or is that it? The other one is the level of gore content, particularly in the newer one, that scene where the heart is being ripped out (probably one of the mentioned deities ripping out the heart of the one whose quasi avatar we become then), I've seen you mention references and influences in the other thread and this one is oddly specific, Mortal Kombat? I know in the game we keep killing lots of stuff but none of that was very gory or anything as far as I could see (though there was this one other guy in the older trailer but the killing itself wasn't gory). My concern with that is, if there is an excessive amount of violence, personally for me it needs to make sense, otherwise I feel it's just serving itsel and as an edgy addition to appeal to those types of people...

Hopefully both of those questions are NOT answered with "There's more where that came from!" :P but that's just me, I wouldn't like it but it's your game and I am not going to make demands here. (side note: because reasons I'm not the kind to play demos but it wouldn't discourage me anyway and the likelihood of me wanting the game if that question was answered with "more" is NOT zero either :P)

That said, getting back to references, I think someone mentioned Wizard of Legend, are those 2 in the background in that "courtyard" a reference to those? Also the...uh...yeah...well..the bulky pointy thing in that sword swamp, it can hardly be called a sword but is this in reference to Final Fantasy's Garland ie his sword? The Minecraft sword you mentioned was easy to spot and I'm fairly sure I've seen more that I know from somewhere but can't put my finger on (like that bone demon lady or whatever it is in that painting, or the rapier that might be any random one but somehow I immediately think of Raphael from Soul Calibur, and if I'm not mistaken with Mortal Kombat above I might be right about this one as well :P)

Actually, hearth ripping has a meaning in the game lore. It is a way to steal another sage's elemental powers. But our artist is inspired by Mortal Kombat while doing it. Obviously, we need a better way to represent it. Because it is the only gore thing in the game.

And about her boobs... We didn't want to sexualize the main character, and sadly ended up doing it. Will definitely make a touch on it.

First off, thanks! For the answer and not getting defensive (I fear this reaction every time I mention something like this bc...well you know the internet). The gore part probably just comes across off in the trailer, I'm sure it's more elaborate in-game, I mean the deity in question does walk up to the characrter shortly after so it's obvious that wasn't a killing blow (though one may or may not be led to think that was before the ripping part, you never know from trailers whether sth is happening *then* or as a flashback/retelling about how we became infused)
As for the latter, well if all else fails, do it Sailor Moon transformation style, it's half naughty but still tame :P
