Play the original DOOM 3 with a sourceport (I recommend dhewm3) instead of this steaming pile of horsesh*t.

Compared to the original, this remaster or whatever you want to call it lacks any sense of atmosphere or tension that the game carried. Ammo packs are so plentiful that it's never even slightly a concern. The lighting has been made significantly brighter and the flashlight has essentially infinite power. The little music there was has been removed from areas of the game. Overall it feels genuinely unfun to play compared to the original release.

Replaying this game 20 years later..

I played it when I was a kid and didn't like it. 20 years later I kinda like it. Biggest complaint is the level design - everything feels like a damn corridor. Enemy design is pretty sweet but guns are pretty much water pistols. I def appreciate what Doom 3 was trying to do at the time. It's a good enough successor to Doom 1+2 and gets too much hate but 2016 and Eternal were perfection....

Why the hate for BFG Edition?

- Fans: "Doom 3 is the worst of the franchise. The slow pace; having to switch back and forth between the flashlight and weapons, which greatly incentivizes players to just use the duct tape mod; etc. etc." - BFG Edition: *makes the duct tape mod an official part of the game; greatly increases the ammo you receive from pick-ups; and other minor changes. At my wit's end trying to get 3rd person mod to work in Doom BFA

I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm trying to figure out how to load the 3rd person mod in Doom BFA or even enable it in BFA itself, but for the life of me I cannot get it to freaking work. I've been trying for the past half hour and I just cannot get out of first person. The reason I'm trying to do this is to see if it helps dealing with the Trites as I've arachnophobia, but apparently God says I'll get too damn scared so He's making it so nothing I do to make it work works!!! I'm losing my ♥♥♥♥, some...

Game no longer works?

Was playing it earlier this morning/last night and now the game wont launch... When doing to the games folder and launching it though there it opens, runs the splash screen and minimises into a tiny window you cant do anything with FIXED IT by going into cfg files and changing it to a lower res HxW Then ingame putting it back to 2560x1440 165hz Worked...
