The a.i. seems to choose random actions anyways so i just use offense... seems to be about as effective as anything else

I'm missing only 2 achievements, 1 million parsecs and 10000 turns played. Could anyone check my current stats, thanks?

I'm searching for players to play with me against AIs, to be stronger (i'm still a noob that sometimes be wiped out by 'very easy' AIs... Yes. And i want to make friends too ^^ I can play and talk in french and english. (but my english is not good, right?) PS: I didn't like the 2 when it was out (poor music, graphics and strategies, unballanced...) is it better now?...

While reading the guides here, it was recommended to focus entirely on long range kinetic weapons for first strike capability to the exclusion of all else, including for the most part defenses except armor (favoring hp over defense). Is this still the case? Is it still the consensus that kinetics (at long range) are still better than say a more balanced approach of beams plus kinetic and laser defense? I don't see a lot of use of missiles either... Thanks!...
