Since you already reinstalled i doubt trying to fix game files will do anything.
You might want to do some updates for starters, windows, drivers and stuff.

I'll leave you a few questions to understand the issue better and i might add more as i come up with them.

• Are your specs in range for this game? (installed on SSD, supported GPU and so on)
  
• Did the game ever work for you? If yes, when did it stop?
  
• Does your game get completely stuck? Does it ever timeout on the server connection or anything similar?
  
• Are you and your friend located in the same area? If not did you check if there may be limitations on your networking? (i.e. your country won't allow connections to the servers closest to you)
  
• Do you use different ISP/Networking technologies?

It was working fine before. The last time I played without issues was in August. I reinstalled the game recently, and now during matchmaking, it gets stuck on the map screen and stays there for hours. I can't return to the lobby either. The game is installed on an SSD, and my system meets all the requirements. My drivers are up to date, and there are no issues with my internet connection. My friend and I are in the same region. This also happens in other matches without my friend. I can't join 4 out of 5 matches.

I'm having similar issues. Might be a combination of Embark's servers and your ISP. I'm just about ready to call them to let them know my connection gets broken for just a few seconds, but in those few seconds, the game's servers just never try to reconnect on it's own, so it just doom loads.

Do other online games run smoothly or do you experience high pings/packet loss issues?
What ZaddyIssues is saying might make sense in a scenario where your internet is unstable and The Finals doesn't handle reconnecting while loading too well (if at all).

Would you be able to try out your game with a different internet connection?

Edit: I've just re-read your answer and you say that otherwise your internet has no issues, in that case troubleshooting might get tricky. Maybe you could try connecting to a few games and check if anything interesting appears in the logs at

Found a solution for me. If you have a VPN on. Turn it off and it worked. Norton had it on automatically and kept giving me trouble.
