Complete hardware freeze while playing
Not sure if anyone else has this same issue, unlike other crashes I've seen this one just completely freezes my computer. It happens whether I'm playing or alt+tabbed. When I'm alt+tabbed I'll still be able to change windows (except not back to the game, strangely) but doing anything results in the window freezing (i.e. trying to open a folder in file explorer, trying to stop the game in steam). While in game it's just a complete freeze, can't even alt+tab. The only way to fix this is to restart my computer completely, hard reset.

This can happen sometimes as much as 3-5 times in an hour, and it's extremely frustrating to be mid-match and be booted out. It's one of the reasons I haven't played competitive yet. Nothing I change in game seems to help, I even turned all the video settings off, changed sound settings, etc.

I am running an AMD Ryzen 7 5600, with a RTX 4060 Ti.

Yes I have had the same issue and a ton of other people have to I have not found a fix yet. When I changed to windowed fullscreen instead of fullscreen and turned vsync on it slightly helped or maybe my pc is just getting used to the bug lol. Also I have a 4k monitor at 120hz do you also?

Yeah I'm having the same issue and I'm not seeing any discussion of it outside of this thread. I have no idea what's causing it since outside of that and the occasional stutter, the game runs fine.

Out of curiosity what motherboard are you running? I'm using a b450m pro-vdh max and I've found another report of the issue using the same motherboard.

bru, OC'ing can cause instability issues and reduce lifespan.. stop OC'ing. It's not good for your CPU &/or motherboard... Mostly It doesn't improve the performance enough to even be worth it.
lmao 5.0Ghz, probably get'n just a bit too HOT of temps? or it's just tweeking out cause the clocks are out'a'wack lol,, 3.7 to 4.2 should be sufficient & stable.

anyway..
- Are all the hardware drivers up to date and are they the most compatible ones?
- Have you turned off all ray trace settings?
- Are you using Windows 11 or 10?
- Are your heatsinks/fans cooling sufficiently? Check those.
- Try tweaking your PC's BIOS settings for proper clocks and voltages & other configurations. Sometimes having the slightest OC's/offsets can cause instability.
You'll either have to let the bios auto-detect/configure the frequencies/clocks & voltages, or you'll have to manually set them starting at the hardware's recommended settings and then step it up bit by bit from there..
- Also check your Memory(RAM) for integrity. Sometimes bad ram (or ssd/hdd) can cause freezes or crashes.

(maybe a certain hardware is just not that compatible with the motherboard?)
Is it a DIY build?

Hopefully it gets resolved! Good luck have fun don't die! :steamhappy:

Same issues, my comptuer hangs for about a second, every 5 seconds. Really annoying and makes the game unplayable
Playing in full screen mode fixed for me

I had several of these crashes but not since I disabled my second screen while playing. Not sure if it was the actual fix or I've just been lucky since then with no crashes.
