What anti-virus program are you using and stop using it. Just use Windows Defender it's perfectly fine. (Unless you aren't using Windows 10 or 11 or even a PC I guess)

it's false positive. Avast were creeping on my games when I were updating them also. Such as apex legends. It were flagging exe file of apex for some reason. Just added it to exclusion list and updated game anyway. After like 3 or 4 days I checked again and it were not flagging the file anymore. But now I am on the Kaspersky and it does not trigger itself like avast was on sus but harmless files. Even fan control app started to working normally, when avast was flagging it's driver as vulnerable. and could not determine that it was used by fan control app.
Avira, Avast, and AVG. Sadly all three have gone down the dark path of exploitation and selling customer data as well as other creepy garbage like cryptomining in background w/o consent. There's been consolidation and corporate movement that I won't get into here, you can check links and do your own research for details.

Yes, even if you already are a paying customer they still did this nonsense.

Apparently AVG is a subsidiary of Avast now so yeah.... >_>

There were rumors and hints that Kaspersky has been subject to and providing user data to the Russian govt which is why they were blacklisted from the US entirely. As for whether or not this is true you can dig around for yourself.

Although just saying all these spyware components installed when playing Chinese gacha games on PC do the same thing of masquerading as anti-cheat then selling data while reporting to the Chinese govt.

And remember kids, it's not just a theory, it is an actual conspiracy. Learn the difference ;)

At this rate I would hope a country like Switzerland (the most privacy-focused country in the world) would have a local company start offering privacy-focused antivirus for a change. Maybe. Hopefully.
