Devs need testers for the pre-workshop build!
EDIT: Read the Answer.

The workshop patch thread has been abandoned by months, and no one appeared to give atleast a slim hope that the Steam version is actually gonna be patched and have the issues fixed, dozens of people posting their crash logs on the thread, and being completely ignored, with no warning if the game has really been abandoned. Did the publishers get bought just to have some good games abandoned? What the actual hell.

I can confirm that this beta branch build is indeed compatible with Linux branch and cross-platform co-op is again possible.

using Gat knife gun with buff fire light etc ,the link will be disconnected...And unknown reasons
In this case, there was no game crash between the two sides, only the link was disconnected.:)

After the intro, during the Go Shopping quest the game will not progress after buying the guns and if you go back and enter buying mode in friendly fire it wipes out the guns and puts the money back, also cannot do it in single player. As a side note in multiplayer the game generates a lot of the same NPC's in the same general area, and quite a few of them just stand there looking stupid even if you shoot them.

I forgot to post here instead, so, I'll simply copy-paste:

Seems to be running good, and the performance is slightly better compared to public for some reason, but my co-op partner had a crash about 1 hour in, and there was no signs of what could have caused it.

i was still in-game and joined my co-op partner after loading a manual save since the game prompted it, and my co-op partner was invisible, and after opening the hub and then the map, trying to mark on the GPS froze the game, though that didn't lock up my PC like the public build.

Something even more bizarre happened after we both tried to play again too: I got in the game, and like...the game was frozen, but I could still pause, I could still fuss around with Steam Overlay and the minimap still updated, barely according to my co-op partner's location. But he couldn't enter any vehicles.

New: And while my partner was AFK, I was playing the game fine for several minutes...until their game froze.

This was an issue I saw reported with certain mods. Are you 100% certain that you don't have any mods installed at all? Either manually or previous workshop ones?
Punish With Fire 30 Jul, 2019 @ 1:13pm
I just verified there are no workshop items installed and as far as I know I have never installed any other mods, I just verified the files and tried again with the same result, I am going to try uninstalling and reinstalling.
impetus_maximus 30 Jul, 2019 @ 1:24pm
where are mods (both workshop and manual) located?
AkiraJkr 30 Jul, 2019 @ 2:01pm
It depends on the mod you installed. There is no specific folder for them as far as I'm aware.
impetus_maximus 30 Jul, 2019 @ 2:20pm
ok, just bringing it up so testers can confirm no mods are running.
loonybawz 30 Jul, 2019 @ 4:39pm
me and https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/id/TamRose/ meet your criteria, when we play we get most if not all the workshop related bugs even if there are no workshop mods installed and both of us running vanilla witch often renders Saints Row IV unplayable, I find the bug where the host crashes and the client still tries to load interesting though I know some had that before but we didn't get it until after the patch, Anyways we will be happy to test for you

Have you guys tried to call vehicle delivery while having lots of cars saved (im not sure about the number but might be over 40) It makes my game crash on normal version. It even stops crashing if i remove a few and get under a certain number. Not many people save cars in this game due the super power thing but i guess it might worth testing.

Fresh install, same problem.

Update, purchasing the pistol, customizing it, buying all the first level upgrades will let us past.

After tooling around a bit to identify the stores and activities on the map we drove into the water and after warping to shore Napalm's game crashed while acquiring a new vehicle. BTW I have been hosting and it is an online game.

The main QA tester I'm working with is out today but I'll be touching base with him tomorrow on this.

As glad as I am for this build, seeing it needed to be rebuilt from the source makes me wonder why a few QOL tweaks weren't thrown in to both that, and the workshop build and rebuilt from the source if that's how much it took to get this build functioning
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
