Chronicle is finally playable again! (remake)

Hello everyone,

As you all know, Chronicle: Runescape Legends closed it's book on the 6th of August 2018. And it's been sitting on a shelf collecting dust ever since... until today!

The original game had so much left to give, so I've spent the last couple of months recreating our beloved game from the ground up. You can play single player, multiplayer, build decks, etc... with many more updates to come!

I really want this game to be community driven. So which cards and mechanics get added, changed or removed is all up the players. Let's write the next chapter!

Ooh, I'm going to have to take a look at this! I always meant to try to recover some information from it way back when, but never quite ended up with enough time (plus I lost my reference screenshots)

What are the odds.. my friend and me was just speaking about this game the other day and how much we missed it, for fun i just wanted to see discussions and how many other people also missed the game as much as we do, then 1 hour ago you posted this thread about it beeing playable again. im soooooooo hyped and really hope it will stay running this time with help from the community.

this is so nice, but i cant manage to build my own deck, am i missing some tools or programms for that?

There currently isn't an in-game deck editor but you can open decks (.dck) with any text editor (f.e. notepad).

I suggest going to the decks folder and copy a deck there, then open it up and change anything you want. (keep in mind that the brackets, quotes, etc have stay in place.)

To get a list of all the cards you can take a look at the "Card Renders" folder within the decks folder. It contains an image of every card currently available (226 at the time of writing, and growing rapidly).

It's all a bit finicky at the moment, but should work for now :)

Haha that's awesome! What are the odds ^^

This version will luckily never disappear as players can host their own servers to play games. (like cs:go and similar old-school titles). So nobody can "shut the game down" or "stop the game from running" as with the original :)

But please join the community if you want to help building this game up again or join a tournament. That stuff can only exist for as long as people are interested!

We can only play magic's duels? No more exploration on the board? And only in english i suppose?

ill have to look into this i didnt touch th origional too much had alot of other games on my plate at the time was scrolling through my steam library and saw this was no longer active

Just wanted to show a bit of my gratitude here for the appreciation of not letting this game die even if Jagex axed it. It feels like a miracle to know that there are still people who take their time to re-create, mod and remaster long forgotten games so kudos to you.
