The way I did it was to go to the back of the room and shoot him from behind the hole until some dialogue plays, telling you what you need to do. I found that if I was too close to the door where he comes in, he didn't even bother.

I had issues too. The trick is to keep shooting him until hendrix says something like "There's a disposal pit, try luring him in there." Once he says that the combot will begin following.

Now the BIG issue is even once he is over the pit it can still be a major pain getting him INTO it. Turn the fan on and open the vent. I reccomend quicksaving here as it may take many, many tries until he finally falls in and the missiles can end up killing Gryphon.

I know this thread is old, but I might as well resurrect it because I finally solved this problem. DON'T turn the fan on before you lure the combot into the incinerator room. First, open the door to release the combot. Then, quickly run to the far side of the incineration pit. Begin shooting at the bot while dodging missiles until Hendrix mentions luring the bot into the pit. The bot will now follow you into the incinerator room. As quick as you can, climb up the ladder in the incinerator room, open the incinerator pit and THEN turn on the fan. This will destroy the bot on the first try, providing you didn't get shot to death.

Thanks man, would've uninstalled if I didn't read this. What a horribly designed fight. I'm determined to finish this game, but so far, boy is it forgettable
