I rarely put a review, but i feel compelled here as I've got 30 years of game dev under my belt, and when I retire, I will be making an F1 management game, but until then, I get so frustrated that people do the difficult stuff, but can't get the easy stuff right.

The game looks nice, it's exactly all you need from a management game, sounds are fine, GUI is clear, so what's the issue?

Depth & Strategy, it's almost entirely missing.

Car set up - Pick the most important element and just spam laps trying to get gold. There is literally nothing else to do, no interesting decisions.
Car manufacture - Upgrade a part or build a new one, that increase 2 stats performance and reliability. There is a smattering of strategy here, but it's not really very interesting. How about multiple areas of the car that affect different stats, positive and negative, which do you develop next? Barely any more programmatic complexity for loads of strategic depth.
Drivers - 1 basic rating and then 2 potential perks, most of which are super dull. Why not have 4-5 stats, making drivers perform very differently rather than just being 'better' than each other. The game clearly has all the stats for this, as the perks use them. Have drivers that perform better in qualifying, in the rain, some are steady but can't overtake, others that help with car set up? Sigh
The Race - And the race, again, all the presentation is fine, i wouldn't change it, but the decisions are almost non existent. You can push the tyres (Potentially crashing) or push the engine, so the whole game comes down to looking at 2 graphs going down and 1 line turning red. Drivers sometimes have good or bad laps (nothing you can do about it), all the opposing cars in the race generally stay in the same positions after a few laps until the end, with gaps slowly widening. Rain maps all AI pit at almost exactly the same time.

Overall - It's starts off fun until you realise there is no depth, each race is the same, and over time you cars get better and you win more races (I started at the bottom). In that respect it's like Kairosoft's Grand Prix Story only with less decisions.

Future - If they can add more depth (I don't mean like other terrible management games where you adjusting front wing angle, yawn), more strategy and more decisions, it has the basics to be a great game, but considering the visuals are near complete while the strategy is bare bones, i don't hold out much hope sadly, but i would change my review.

This game is a great entry level sim game.

I have no experience with any Formula 1 games, and very little knowledge of the sport overall. Yet, I have enjoyed this very simple simulation game. It is a very basic game, but this means that you can move through a year of racing somewhat quickly, with a very simple upgrade process throughout the season.

I would have liked a little more depth, but overall, definitely worth the money.
