Can't tab out of stalker games

When i play any of the 3 games im not able to tab out of them or lower or increase volume, how do i fix this?

If you hit the windows key you can click off the game window.
Steam overlay won't open for me in Clear Sky and can't take screenshots

the windows key doesn't work with me

Weird, I'm actually able to alt tab out no problem now. That's a very strange issue.
