Same issue; I've tried some "fixes" but no luck yet. It's a shame because the game seems so damn good, like Game of the Year quality from what I've played, but it keeps crashing.

What GPU and CPU do you have? I've got a 3080 and a Ryzen 9 3900X. I'm going to try turning off the XMP profile and any overclocking, as I hear that some people have fixed it like that.

RT - off.
If u want rt - on and fix crashes. then u need to stay in within vram. I prefer rt - off, everything else on max and game flying

That might fix it, but it kills the point of having it on PC. We pay good money to use RT; may as well get a refund and buy it on console.

A lot of us want a solution to use RT. My PC is more than powerful enough; it runs the game at like 70-90fps at max settings. It's a problem that Capcom must fix... it's getting annoying.

I had that same problem on Launch day. Like what Legalize Cocaine said, turn off Ray Tracing and that should fix it. RTX 4080 user here... yes even with 16 GB Vram, i had that error. Unless Capcom patches it, turning it off is the only way :(

Turn RT off, lower shadows to high or mid, lower texture quality to 2GB or less, lower resolution.

Lower your graphics setting to point where you don't go over GPU memory limit.
Or buy 3090/4090RTX if you wanna hit max setting without crashes because of 24GB of Vram. Let your wallet decide which is easier fix.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the game crashing and displaying a fatal D3D error. This error is related to DirectX, which is a set of technologies used to develop and run games on Windows-based PCs.

There are a few things you can try to resolve this issue:

Update your graphics card drivers: Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card installed. You can usually download them from the manufacturer's website.

Verify the integrity of game files: Sometimes, game files can become corrupted, causing crashes. You can verify the integrity of game files through the game launcher or via Steam, if you purchased the game through that platform.

Reinstall DirectX: Try reinstalling DirectX, which can be done by downloading the latest version from Microsoft's website.

Lower graphics settings: If your computer is struggling to run the game at higher graphics settings, try lowering them to see if that resolves the issue.

If none of these solutions work, you may want to contact the game's support team for further assistance.

Rt looks terrible in the game, even on high settings, RT on consoles looks worse, it's not worth enabling Raytracing tbh.

I'll try it, but from what I've tested... I personally prefer it with RT. I know it has some AA issues, but the lighting looked too dull with RT off to me, and it gave the game a "washed out" look.

It still needs to be fixed. This is on Capcom to patch out the crashes.

Make sure the texture quality doesn't exceed 3GB. Generally reaching the limit of your GPU vram will cause the game to crash

I've heard about this from the DF review. Some people are okay with it, but I'd rather not lower the settings. I'll just wait for a patch at this rate. 6GB to 3GB textures are just shocking. Like I said, just completely pointless on PC.

Same issue with Hogwarts; PC ports have been so ♥♥♥♥ as of late. It really makes me wonder if it's deliberate.

Hi, I use the RTX 4060 and 13th I9 CPU, and played all process with more than 80FPS, i don't think the problem is caused by configuration.
and i think close RT is not the best solution, i spent the money and need to have the best experience of the game.:steambored:

The GB number next to the texture quality is just a cache size. As long as texture streaming works 3GB and above should pretty much always display high quality textures everywhere. Basically you'd just set the lowest number you don't see textures loading in at but it's kinda wonky in this game again.

I'm getting the same error on the demo with a 4090. I don't want to get the full version to get the same error.
