Possible Bug in 3-VII Gale Force (could be Linux specific?)
After weeks of not being able to get through this level, I eventually looked up a walkthrough video and discovered what I think may be a bug with taking snapshots of wind.

When I place the wind, it immediately dissipates rather than staying around as it does in this video.

I tried using the contact form on the Retro Affect website, tried reaching out to developers on Twitter, but was unable to get any kind of response. This is pretty disappointing as I've otherwise enjoyed the game tremendously.

Has anybody on Linux been able to complete this level? Has anybody on any platform discovered similar issues? Does anybody know of something that I might be doing wrong at my end?

I can confirm that I can also not complete this level. I can take pictures of the wind but it immediately dissipates whenever I try to put it somewhere (I am also running on Linux).

Glad to hear it's not just me! Thanks for the confirmation.

Hopefully we can get some kind of response. I'd really like to finish this game ^_^

I'm hoping for a fix as well, however looking at the other topics, active bugfixing or even responding from developers seems to have ceased. I guess I could try to copy my savegame and progress to another operating system (perhaps even Snapshot under Steam on Wine) to see if I can complete it there after I finish all the other levels.

There are still some options for grabbing attention to the issue that I haven't yet used. Having confirmation from another Linux user that this problem exists is a help (and a disappointing indicator that few Linux gamers bothered to stick with it enough to get this far in the game).

Would be great to hear if running your save in a Windows build lets your progress further.

** Possible spoilears ahead. **

I fear I may have found another bug in 4-8 (Chapter 4 stage 8) I kinda bugged through the first level by pushing the middle box using the statue (thought that was the intention) but got stuck in the second level with nothing to clone. Looking up a walkthrough it turns out you need to snap yourself while standing in the cloner, but that doesn't do anything in my game (I don't turn green either).

I've been trying this out on Wine and it works fine there (I was able to complete all the broken levels). Both the cloning in chapter 4 as well as the wind in chapter 3 are working perfectly in the Windows version. This really seems to be a bug in the Linux version.

l was also not able to receive the double and triple jumping achievements on Linux, which I now received in the Windows version.

OK, so next step I think I'll try to get a couple of videos which illustrate the problem so that it can be more clearly communicted. I'll try to get to this within the next week or two.
Apparently the bug is still here :(. I am stuck!

Even though the game seems to have had some minor configuration changes over the past few months, the Linux build hasn't been updated in two years (source[steamdb.info]).

Its been years and this bug is still in the game. Switched to proton and suddenly I can take pictures of the wind.
