Are you talking about killing the wolf in the cave after you get the backpack? 'Cause that is driving me nuts. The wolf attacks, I press the left/right buttons and the wolf kills me. No circle, no 'press f' message, nothing. Wolf attacks and 5 seconds later it bites my head off no matter what I do. Makes me VERY glad I got this for free, because I've about given up.

I haven't gotten to this point yet but I did notice that the deer encounter within the first few minutes of the game the deer is in the area well before the prompt appears telling you to kill it for meat. So I managed to sneak around and get a good shot at it before the message appeared and the game let me continue. Maybe you can do something like that? Shoot it before that scene happens? I'll share what I figure out when I get to that point in the game.

I've of course completed the story line now. To get past the wolf all you have to do is follow whatever button(s) the screen tells you to press. It might cause your heart to race a bit but it's really not that difficult to get through.

I've not played TR13 for quite some time. But 6 yrs ago, this was one of the top 10 most asked questions. The encounter with the wolf is not all that hard. Your timing must be perfect and you need only have to hit the key once. Hit the key to soon or to late and the QTE fails. Focus on the screen, not on the wolf.

This perfect hit occurs 1 more time, that being with the final boss fight. Remember I said that when you get there.

Today when you play it in QHD the Qte never works. In window-mode with FullHD the QTE works.

Absolutely a bug, but one I think brought about by new hardware. I've encountered similar bugs before with games primarily developed for console or old PC's. Many of the timings and physics go completely wonky if you're pulling 144+ FPS at 2K+

I tried windowed, 60Hz, and a few other options. Nothing seemed to work in this case. Instead I bound a second key for kick/push (So I left F alone and added a second key) and used that key during this QTE event. Seemed to work first go.

It's a near 10 year old game, sadly nobody is likely to patch this. Ideally someone creates a mod that simply auto-completes the QTE's. I lost my appetite for them back in the days of Shenmue and find them an antiquated and undesirable mechanic.

Rest of the game so far is really good though and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

The framerate is clearly affecting QTE. After almost 20 try, i went from 144fps to 60fps and now it's way more fluid and clean. It also seems that there is some additional display during QTE that were missing in 144fps ><

Wow..... What utterly horrible console mechanics. This is the pinnacle of bad gameplay mechanics.

Tried this multiple times and still unable to bypass. Completely destroyed wanting to further play the game.

FFS people all you have to do is press the button the screen tells you to press when it says to press it. It's not that hard....I'm not the best gamer in the world. I managed to do it.

so first you mash your left/right buttons until the bullseye thing comes out, wait till it shrinks inside first and second ring which will be defend, then you going to mash attack or E on pc until bullseye comes up again repeat first process then mash attack/E and all done
