Game is shutting down my PC
Twice now the game has caused my PC to turn off. The first time was during the cutscene when you find your father's body. The second time was when I was trying to unlock the statue near where you find your mother's body. I've looked at the player.log file and my PC's event logs, but nothing indicates why this is happening.

That's a tought one. There were no similar reports on pc's. It might happen on consoles but they react differently to running out of memory. Sounds a bit like hardware'ish, maybe like something with charging? Of course, unfortunately I have to only ask whether you have all the newest drivers, and hope it won't happen again. The game is fairly demanding but not that demanding. We'll try to run few more tests in those places in the meantime.

I tried playing again and my PC shut down after 5-10 minutes. My graphics drivers were out-of-date, so I updated them and I thought that might be it, but after playing for about two hours my PC shut down randomly again.

I may have figured out the problem, it looks like my PC's power supply was starting to fail. I was also seeing random shutdowns in Slime Rancher 2, after some troubleshooting I replaced the power supply with a new one, and so far there's been no more shutdowns. I'll give this game another try after the Definitive Edition is released, and let you know the results.

Thanks for the update!

Further info, I now believe it was due to running the game in 4K, which was maxing out my graphics card and I guess it pushed it to the point of shutting down. I reduced the resolution to 1440 and that seems to have helped.
