Can't start the game

Hi! I'm having problems with starting the game and was wondering if anyone had any advice. I can press "play" on Steam and the game will start running but afterwards this sort of blackscreen appears where a quarter of the screen is white. Nothing is showing and then after a few seconds the game just shuts down. All advice is appreciated, thanks!

The first thing we'd advise, if you haven't already, is verifying the game files. This will check for missing or corrupt files and replace them, which you can do via the steps here

Sorry to hear your game is not launching.
Please first try all the steps from our PC troubleshooting guide: https://ubi.li/8Nv0g

Run it in a compatibility mode with Windows 7. Try full screen optimization in the Compatibility tab in the Properties of the game exe file.

Disable overlays, especially if you have any 3rd party installed.
Disable and close Discord or any other software in the background.
