WTB tech support will give 6 degree for help
built a new pc last year, old win10 PC ran this game great obviously, but ever since I moved to windows 11. Anyone else had issues getting this to run on 11? Google has been a ghost town in the help department so far, thought I'd offer a bounty xD

Do not know. Of course more detail is required for any troubleshooting. To find the root cause eventually.

We just got this game, it currently downloading. Crappy win11. I will chime in if it works or not. Roll the dice of gaming.

Update: for the OMD2 Six Degrees achievement you must play with someone who has it already. Catch the robot disease.

Not sure how you are searching google. It is easy to find information to obtain.
Also there are guys in other threads who are happy to help get your this achievement.

OMD2 is working in win11. bit too fast though for the mouse movements. Changed the setting to slow down.

7800xtx, 7800 x3d cpu. game states that it can't initialize from steam or from executable. Some people have suggested manually editing the resolution through the .xml file, but my game doesn't even generate the shiner file in documents to allow me to manually change graphics settings. orcs must die the original is giving me the same problem but 3 and deathtrap work fine. it's just that 2 is by far the best one they made :( I'm like 95% sure it's got something to do with steam cloud settings, but i've been trying to get it to run all month, must have done a dozen clean installs using revo uninstaller. steam issues are always so stubborn man.

what I meant though, is that i'll happily dole out the 6 degree achievement to anyone that helps me squash this bug. soon as I can log in i'll give it to everybody lol.
True that, older games on steam need updated support, especially if they are asking for full price.
To solve the mouse speed issue and frame rate, changing the setting in-game didn't do much. Swapped out the mouse with its own scroll speed button.

If you are running 4k resolution, you might need a program such as Magpie.

At the end of steam downloading and installing. Did the steam prompt to install c++ redistributable 2008 software? Then there was something else with the windows 11 package I had to approve to install after c++. Ensure that section completes otherwise the game will not load.

I appreciate the help dude. it looks like Im not getting the steam prompt for c++ redistributable 2008 software. Any Idea how to force it to happen? 3 weeks ago I was thinking it might be a c++ redist issue.
Seems odd, but win11 is dumb. You checked integrity of files, uninstalled - reinstalled, that kind of basic stuff you know been a steam player. I still think its crap, if it is a requirement, they should present the exact issue, xyz is missing.

Normally steam behaves like this: 1, OMD2 downloads and installs. 2, the play button changes too prompt to install extras. OMD2: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable - x86 9.0.30729.17 - then happy days your gaming.

You could check in win11, If you know control panel you know to check what programs are installed or not
If you do not see that I would say try a manual install.

you're a rockstar. manually installing it didn't work, though it is installed and uninstallable for sure. unfortunately I think I might have to take the L on this one. finding some information that seems to indicate that my specific version of windows is the problem. Unless someone out there can confirm they're running this game on the most up to date version of windows 11 I think my options might be "wait" or or install an entire partition for windows 10 just to play omd2 =/
