Typically it's the other way around: miniatures games have you collect miniatures, and their stats are represented on cards. The only one I'm really familiar with is the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures game, which has nearly 2,000 miniatures to date, if not over. They started adding item cards after a while and now you have even more freedom in warband building. Surprisingly, it doesn't seem very popular on the internet, but it's going strong; they release like 3 smallish sets per year.

Try Mage Wars Arena or Mythic Battle Pantheon or even Heroscape if you can track it down. Not quite the same but close. There's a Kickstarter going for a game called Gatefall. Cards and Minis and dice. Looks cool!

Heroscape if you can find it for cheap. It's out of print and really expensive. Maybe try and find a collection. Hasbro released a Magic the Gathering version a few years ago called Magic the Gathering - Arena of the Plainswalkers. It's way, way cheaper. There's a couple of expansions for it too. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/167698/magic-gathering-arena-planeswalkers

As drksmr also mentioned Mage Wars Arena is good. It's card based, but very comparable to a turn based tactics computer game. Also check out Summoner Wars.

in my opinion - Pox reminds me a lot of "Magic the Gathering" and if i understand or translate in correct way the "physical" and "play on board" - you should check out the "table top version" - but there are no minitatures to collect - only cards to collect - but for the cards you will need enough money the booster packs are slightly expensive in 2019 like over 20 years ago in 1995/96 :D or you have some luck and find some good offers from people who selling their card collections - and finally you will need people who have cards too - to meet them and play with, or maybe in your City exists some several Shoplocations where MTG Events takes place, because of the "high" age of this game there should exist in nearly every bigger city a Shoplocation where MTG Events takes place.

i cant describe/discuss the generally depth of MTG - its to immensely - there exists thousands of cards, and also lots of different game mechanics, strategics , combinations and so on.

for me - in a way Pox somehow comes close to MTG a bit, i would say for a pc game really not a bad job

there are existing several digital versions of the MTG , where you can buy and collect the same cards too to play MTG online, but over the years so many versions have piled up that I cannot make a recommendation of which one is good one , because I was not willing to spend again money on digital versions of cards which i already own as a real physical card..

but in many of the digital games you can spend lots of money too :D

you can check out all of digital games or the table top games under the Publisher Wizards of the Coast
or for the digitals maybe the link is working
