I'm playing solo mode and trying to sell ships, but nothing seems to happen? No offers or bids have come in three years. Is the only way in solo mode to just scrap the old vessels?

Just started the game a few days ago. Do I invest in one port and upgrade it? Or, do I spread it around in profitable adventures?

Can i plan pickups ahead? Like the start ship has about 60t of space I pick up 40t in Rotterdam, and will deliver 20t of that in Cairo. Why can't I take a contract of 30t in Cairo when sceduling my trip? Only after arriving in Cairo, i can pick it up but that means i have to stop at every port to pick up the contracts at that moment instead of planning ahead. From what i saw in the tutorial and my first 30 minutes of gameplay, I don't see a way to plan ahead and i'd like to know before i cross the 2 ho...
