Unlikely, it seems to be a staple in their game design. A Way Out was the same way. Part of the reason is since their games have 2 characters that often veer off from each other and encounter different things you can see/experience what they're going through in a single playthrough as opposed to multiple. Fun is their primary concern and I (personally though I know we all have diff opinions) love the splitscreen as it adds some hilarious moments.

I sincerely hope not. That would be such a deal-breaker... also my wife loathes platforming. It Takes Two was essentially unplayable for us on our separate 27" computer monitors...

It takes two could be played online, but was still split screen on each player's screen.

How is it unplayable becose of split screen? It still way more inches of monitor space per player as compared to for example 6.8 Inches of most smartphones - and you can game on them too. Or the splitscreen in Mario Kart, Mario Party and many more other games that support split screen(rarer nowdays but it used to be a norm for all multiplayer games before internet gaming - and monitors and TVs were smaller back then).

Let me explain this for everyone and for you in particular. There were some episodes in A Way Out when split screen ruined the experience. I mean jail scene where you had to warn your partner about guards getting closer. It is literally pointless if he can see guards on your part of the screen.

So I'm not completely against split screen but at such moments it would be better to switch it to full screen.

I also think your idea is great!! The split-screen function should indeed have a function to be turned off~~The split-screen function is equivalent to reducing the difficulty of the game, so I think that only when you can't pass the level a few times do you choose to turn on the split-screen function~~~ The split-screen function also greatly affects the immersion of the game~~
