Application Load Error
Hey guys,

I bough this game today and every time I start it up it seems to give me this error. I've verified the cache files, steam is up to date, my mac is up to date as well... Is there any way to fix this?

I am experiencing the same problem on three Nancy Drew games, Alibi in Ashes, Secrets can Kill Remastered, and Shadow at the Water's edge. I have verified the cache files as well, and have uninstalled and reinstalledeach game, without any results. I am very disappointed, and I hope I can get a refund if this issue is not resolved.

My girlfriend is encountering the same problem. Does anyone know any solutions?

I have read that downgrading your Steam Client to an older version may fix this problem.

Yeah, but that would also cause other problems with all her newer games I believe. Any other solutions? Maybe upgading to the beta update?

You could try it out, but I really have no idea. I did read that Grand Theft Auto players experienced the same problem, and the solution was to downgrade the game rather than the Steam Client. Unfortunatly, I do not know how to do so...

I'm going through the exact same problem. I also have a MAC and there is an application load error. Hopefully steam can fix this problem soon.

I tried to contact Steam about it, and after waiting two weeks to hear back they just told me to run a windows system check. Even though I run it on a mac. Then they told me to check here to see if anyone else had solved the problem or with the creators of the game. So basically, Steam has no idea what to do...

Yep, same issue here. They had me delete files in the application support folder.. didn't work. I tried downloading an older steam, still didn't work. I keep asking them for a refund but they keep sending me through these time consuming troubleshooting tutorials. Sorry but Steam support is ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Lol and they have yet to realize that EVERYONE is having this issue so it is clearly not our computers.. it is STEAM

I am having this problem too, I sent a message to Steam this morning and never got a reply. I have a Mac and tried verifying the game, and I have tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I still get the error.

Same here. Haven't tried contacting Steam about it yet, but it is somewhat tiresome :( I play on a Mac as well...

I contacted Steam support and Her Interactive. Got the full run around. Nobody wants to take responsibility for this. Such a bummer. I feel gyped.
