Celebrate the New Game+ Update with a Dungeons of Hinterberg Midweek Deal!

There’s never been a better time to dive into Hinterberg’s magic—whether you’re picking it up for the first time or ready to relive the adventure with fresh features and exciting new ways to play. Here are some highlights from the New Game+ update. You can find a full breakdown at the end of the post.

ENGAGING REPLAYABILITY

The main goal of New Game+ is to provide players an enhanced second playthrough. You can play through the game from the start, while keeping your last playthrough's inventory, player stats, and most of the perks that you received from relationship level-ups! In addition, you can choose to either keep your past relationships or reset them and build them again from scratch.

Enemies will pose a greater challenge. Some will have new melee shields; others will boast increased ranges or more intense attacks. Also, more enemies will have magic shields in general.

To help deal with these nastier enemies, we’ve added 4 new attack conduits to give you additional combat options.

Downpour - Giant water projectiles that rain down from the sky.

Piercing Glance - Numerous eyes open in the void around Luisa, shooting lasers in all directions.

Rage - Luisa's speed and damage is increased for a short period, while damage taken is also reduced.

Wind Dash - Luisa dashes forward, damaging everything in her path.

We’ve also added some more outfits for your customization pleasure. Some of them you’ll find at Olivia’s Outfits in town, while others will be received on satisfying certain criteria.

To top it off, we’ve added ‘Armor Visuals’ which apply when using Luisa’s base outfit only – This allows players to see the armor they’re equipping, along with providing amazing new looks for pads, leggings, and body armor!

Finally, 9 new achievements will provide more goals to work towards, offering new challenges for seasoned players looking to test their skills.

ITEMISED LIST OF UPDATES, CHANGES & FIXES

New:

New Game + is now available! You can play through the game from the start, while keeping your last playthrough's inventory, player stats, and most of the perks that you received from relationship level-ups! In addition, you can choose to either keep your past relationship progress or to reset it.
Extra New Game + content:
9 new achievements
4 new attack conduits
Perks, charms, and gear exclusive to NG+
New enemy behaviors (selected enemies now have melee shields, some have more intense attacks or increased ranges, more enemies have magic shields)
3 new offerings at Olivia’s Outfits (Alpine Athlete - in 3 editions, Catgirl, Superfan)
A Kai outfit you can get by resetting relationships and hanging out with Kai
A new, monstrous outfit as a reward for finishing all Monster Club tasks!
Armor visuals - see what you’re equipping, with amazing new looks for your pads, leggings, and body armor! (This only applies to Luisa’s base outfit)

Fixed/Reworked:

Improved performance on Steam Deck.
Reduced save game file sizes.
Fixed text overflow in the shop screens in some languages.
Removed obsolete inputs from settings.
Fixed a bug where the reward for completing the second relationship level with the dog sometimes didn’t appear.
Fixed a bug where Luisa’s equipped costume reverted to her default outfit when loading a save game.
Fixed a bug which led to performance issues when saving the game in quick progression on weaker machines.
Fixed a bug which sometimes blocked user input for a few seconds after the game started.
Fixed a bug where using Whirlwind in the Forest Labyrinth could lead to an infinite black screen.

Our Slay in Style Content Update is here!

Hello Adventurers! We hope you’ve been having fun in Hinterberg over the last couple of months - it's been amazing seeing all of you exploring, puzzling and slaying!

Today, we bring you the first content update – Slay in Style! Taking a stroll through the shopping street, you might notice a new store near the bridge called ‘Olivia’s Outfits’. Here, you’ll be able to purchase a variety of outfits so that you can put your own spin on Luisa. Whether you want to be a member of the Monster Club, embody the Day Tourist style, or fully embrace the Austrian culture in Lederhosen, there is an outfit for you!

You will also have more options in Photo Mode. You will now have multiple filters and overlays to choose from, as well as 10 poses for Luisa to strike! You will be able to view the photos you’ve taken in full screen as well to fully appreciate your artistic efforts.

There is also now a way to purchase Dungeons of Hinterberg and ensure you’re supporting the Microbird team directly. We’ve bundled together the full game, original soundtrack and digital artbook. Happy slaying/listening/reading!

On top of all of this, we have quality of life updates and bug fixes that will make gameplay even smoother. See below for a full breakdown:

NEW: Added New playable outfits for Luisa

FIXED: An issue where the player can walk in the air while holding the battery gem
FIXED: An issue where Tatzelwurm can be damaged by the ‘Wrecking Ball’ in phase 1, even though it is not knocked down
FIXED: An issue that causes the PhotoMode camera to clip out of bounds
FIXED: An issue where Luisa can be slightly displaced when entering Photomode
FIXED: A bug causing the UI to be hidden when taking a photo at the same time as closing photo mode
FIXED: A bug in Snowy Summit on the push-block puzzle where the icicle would not collide with the block any more after loading into the level from a save game. (This fix will not restore already broken save games)
FIXED: Butterfly Barrage target is offset when target locking Wassermann foot in stage 2 of boss fight
FIXED: Attack Conduits 'Flame Breath', 'Meteor Shower', 'Snowball', and 'Whirlwind' are affected by 'Perfect Dodge' slowdown.
FIXED: Magic Spells 'Wind Projectile', 'Whirlwind', 'Jelly Block', 'Plasma Ball', 'Light Ray', and 'Hover Board' are affected by 'Perfect Dodge' slowdown
FIXED: An issue causing speech bubbles to be visible in photomode
FIXED: An issue where input prompts could remain visible on screen in rare instances
FIXED: An issue where relationship rewards of People were shown on the map incorrectly
FIXED: An issue where the exploding fruit in Grove dungeons would not collide with vine fences
FIXED: An issue where Alex could disappear during the onion festival
FIXED: A potential soft-lock on the Ice block puzzle in Snowman Summit
FIXED: Inverted Controller controls during Basilisk boss fight
FIXED: An issue where a black screen would be visible at startup

We hope you’ve enjoyed your time in Hinterberg so far over the last few weeks! We have loved seeing what you’ve been getting up to over on the Discord[discord.gg] and on X[x.com]. We’ve also really appreciated you taking the time to give feedback on how the game is running and any issues you’ve encountered. We’ve been listening and working hard behind the scenes and are now very happy to bring you our first patch with updated and new features!

New:

Enhanced rich presence – Added more detailed information about where in Dungeons of Hinterberg your friends are currently exploring (Steam/Epic specific)
Controller buttons can now be remapped in the settings
FOV Slider
Added a second auto-save slot which saves every day at noon, when entering a overworld

Fixed/Reworked:

Reworked Waystones: Upon activating a Waystone, you will now have the option to continue from a Waystone’s position whenever you re-enter the dungeon.
Reworked framerate cap setting to fix potential screen tearing
Behavior of inverted controller axis setting during side view and top-down perspectives
Issue where players could end up in an unresponsive state when dying during specific moments in combat
Incorrect breakfast comments by Marina if you unlock breakfast reward very late in the game
Disabled low health vignette during cutscenes
Added failsafe to prevent entering Overgrown Cave dungeon before access is restored in the story
An issue that could cause a crash when talking to characters with familiarity less than 25 when playing in Simplified Chinese
Minor localization fixes
Minor collider and visual bugs
Rare visual bug for eyeballs in ice cave dungeons when reloading a save game
A possible issue that prevented players from successfully receiving the completion stamp on Snowy Summit
A bug where some NPC stories were delayed too long by other characters
If a player misses the Commemorative Coin in the Beginner’s Dungeon, the coin can be purchased in the Souvenir Shop, guaranteeing that the “Collector” achievement is always possible

Dungeons of Hinterberg is Out Now!

The day is finally here – we’re so excited to share Dungeons of Hinterberg with you! We hope you’re excited to delve into Hinterberg and discover what it has to offer! Here’s a rundown of Hinterberg and the different areas you can visit on your Slaycation.

The first place you’ll visit will be Hinterberg itself. You’ll spend a lot of your slaycation here, getting to know the locals as well as fellow adventurers. It can be a bit overwhelming, being on your own in a new place, but never fear, Theresa, your host, will be more than happy to guide you in the right direction! Once you’re settled into your hotel, she’ll let you know where to go to get trained so you’re ready for some monster slaying!

Another place you’ll visit will be Hinterwald, a beautiful, autumnal forest. There are plenty of places to relax and take in the magnificent scenery here, as well as opportunities to fly through the forest, feeling the wind flowing through your hair!

It wouldn’t be a holiday in the Alps without some snow – when you head up to Kolmstein, you’ll finally get to carve on your magical hoverboard! You can ride the rails into Ice Caves, challenge fellow adventurers on the Slalom, and even make the most of some exclusive transportation options up there…if you know the right people!

You’ll also visit the swamps of Brünnelsumpf! Offering a very different vibe to the other areas, here you can kayak through the tranquil marshes and face new monsters. So long as you don’t mind the rain, Brünnelsumpf is a very serene place to spend a day, with plenty of dungeons to keep you busy!

If all that wasn’t enough, we have plenty of Hinterblogs to get you up to speed with the basics of life in Hinterberg and what to expect from the area. We also have a light player guide on the Community Hub to give you some helpful tips on how to make the most of your time in Hinterberg!

We’re 1 week out from the launch of Dungeons of Hinterberg! Hopefully you’ve had a chance to get to grips with the game so far through our demos and all the information in our Hinterblogs. If you haven’t seen them, now’s a great time to go back through them and get clued up before you land in Hinterberg next week!

And, as if you didn’t have enough of a reason to dive into Hinterberg on day 1, we’re also throwing in some extra goodies if you buy within the first two weeks (as well as a 10% discount on the game itself)!
