It's just a bit... boring.

Jumping back and forth between a dozen stories gets a bit tiring and you don't really get invested in any of them. Also pretty simple and cliche, most of them.

I HATE the random encounters while walking around on the map (in all games)!
And there is also mandatory grinding to be able to continue the main quests. I have better things to do with my time; the combat is not that fun after the 500th encounter.

Side quests are also strangely uhh.. unexplained/unguided - you can expect to search youtube a lot for how to do them.

It's not a *bad* game, but you have heard the stories before and you have done the combat before.

The graphics and art style is **gorgeous**, though.

Does everything Octopath Traveller 2 did but better.
Amazing cast of characters, not a single storyline I didnt enjoy. A lot more variety in combat and quests that dont just simply revolve around, bring x character to y location.

Final boss was not as big of a headache as the final boss of Octopath Traveller 1 yet did a better job in allowing you to feel like all the hours you put into your characters mattered rather than looking up a guide to find where the best gear is hidden like in the previous game. The game gives you much better options to grind for XP and Job Points than its previous entry, yet unlike the previous entry doesnt require you to grind for 10+ hours just to be able to beat the final boss.

It's like Octopath Traveler 1, but better!
