Saw the game has a 220MB update, any idea what it is?

I tried reloading a new game several times but it's just "OOIIII" and Natsumi follows me everywhere I go. What gives? Also, where are the control options? I don;t know what buttons to press or change!

I found the first two pretty easy, but the third one near the trees in the middle of the isle is missing (at least to me). I spent almost 30 minutes looking for it. I even tried reloading a save with no luck.
