Movement / Fire Inconsistent (Am I Missing Something?)
I want to like this game a lot, but the movement and fire mechanics feels off. I'm fine with the idea of firing slows movement, but I can never tell when I fire if it's going to be a continuous shot or a single shot. I've tried tapping, holding, and so on. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. And given how it affects movement, it means I might suddenly and unexpectedly speed up in to an enemy. I've already ended a few promising runs due to this issue. Is there something I'm missing or is this not for me?

Weird. If verifying file integrity doesn't help I'm out of suggestions less bad than reload to maybe stop shooting.

What gun and character are you experiencing this with ? That sounds weird that even tapping would produce a random amount of shots.

Normally you just hold to shoot , don't mash. It takes some getting used to but you should be shooting while slowly moving away from the enemy (kiting them) Stop shooting when the enemy gets too close and run back a bit to make space.

Keep your eyes open for movement increase upgrades , one of them allows you to shoot while moving at normal speed, after you get it never stop shooting. (Ideally you want to have this upgrade before the first arena boss the tiger with antlers looking thing that dashes at you, being able to shoot and move fast is very useful for this fight.)
