At this moment , he is working on a different game due to the burn out. I do hope he comes back at some point or at least hire a dev for like 3-9 months and let him do some updates/ready up some updates

I mean he could, but why?

There's no added financial incentive to hire someone else because there are no microtransactions or cosmetics. Once you buy the game, that's the only 10$ the game gets from you, and he's already sold it to a solid 70% of anyone who's going to buy it (more or less depending on how far into the future you look) adding more to the game would be nice, but it's not going to attract a massive surge of new buyers.

The community itself is obnoxiously toxic when it comes to anything he adds to the game because very few understand this game isn't MEANT to be fair. You're meant to die in increasingly unfair ways.

Meanwhile a new project can potentially be just as successful and actually make him more money and maybe even procure an audience that's less toxic.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if "Lethal Company 2" was a higher priority for Zeekers than updating lethal company.

Almost as if we're grasping the fundamental flaw in supporting early access titles...

Considering that the next update is V70, I imagine that the update will be fairly 'large'. Usually Zeekers often makes updates around the '0s' (V50, V60; not sure if V40 counts), as well as some of the 5s (V45, V55, V65), so I imagine that V70 will be getting a fair descent sized update in its own right.

Do recall reading a patreon post from months ago, about the thought process behind creating new interiors, a setting with ' lots of windows ' was mentioned, so who knows.

At this point, something extravagant, even bordering liminal places, or taking inspiration from very specific and bizarre locations might be helpful with new additions of this kind.

Something like a house of mirrors of some sort could be interesting.
