Is this cheating?
My team is currently in Champion 2 Team League. The leading team this week in our group has two players with the same name and very similar times scoring points. One of these players is on steam and the other on xbox. I suspect these are the same person. I think this is unfair and a form of cheating. Does anyone else think the same? If so would it be possible to have this team barred?

What does it matter what type of game it is? Cheating is still cheating.

these games are not moderated, and will not be. they are not a running realtime business.
they are sell and forget. limited lifetime support.no sense to competite online
eSporting is a myth to make sales.

I don't get why they can't erase the cheaters off the leaderboards, if you notice you can't download ghosts for cheaters, so just delete all the records of ghosts that can't be downloaded and verified.

There is an option to report a team when you display team information. Not sure if this is acted on or ignored. We should also be able to report players. Whether or not blocking is possible it might put pressure on cheaters to do the right thing. Or am I hoping for too much? Reporting players or teams suspected of cheating would be a good feature of a future WRC release, and would be better than the awful kernel level anti-cheat system introduced by EA in WRC.

they (AC )are all kernel-level ,differencies is in details
. turning and maintaining costs many man hours . business is not interested in spending money on what doesnt bring profit. moderation of cheaters manly by personell doesnt bring profit.

automated anticheat measures are insufficient without strong AI(not developed still) for mass market.

manual moderation is made for profitable competitions only. REALY longterm PROFITABLE and PRESTIGE like OLYMPICS for a country.

not FOR fake esports for kids to sell them cheap yestarday-burn-branded china chairs and mouse pads

anyones virtual victory or loss has no sense for business anti li ts a part of bargain.
users make no bargains with software makers abou fair play. business doesnt sell fair play enviroment for all anywhere (pc gaming at home) for cheap price( software and license itself).

programming of sofisticated cheater detection logic id not a part of racing game engine or assets of which game is assembled. is costy bussiness logic cannot be sponsored by pauper gamers buying cheap games without annual subscription purchased

IN MEANS :
any company can communicate anything against cheating, but if specific obligations and penalties are not fixed in the EULA, then all communications are just advertising and intentions without obligations = fake\deception
otherwise users could sue software vendor, but software developer will never by its own will make such EULA o be obliged do anything. no guarantees! u take averything AS IS . no obligations for developer.

software with guarantees, are made for space, military , banking , nuclear , etc and cost X 10 - 10000 times * game per one user. not s h i t y 2-100 dollars

So you're saying don't ask a developer for features that would make a product better/fairer for the majority of users if they aren't going to make lots of money for the developer. And if they do say they are going to add such features they are lying and won't. And I thought I was cynical. Personally I think Nacon do care about the community of WRC Generations players. They eventually sorted out the problems associated with the addition of thousands of PS players around Christmas last year. Having worked on commercial software you are right that it is important for a software developer to keep the customer happy. However this can also apply to games and other products for personal rather than business use. For instance the climbdown by Microsoft on the minimum spec for Windows 11 to install and run on old computers. As game players we may not have the clout that commercial users have but we still have a voice and should not be afraid to ask for reasonable improvements or features in future products.
What a discussion. However, its not EA and with that is enough said.
About if its cheating or not, its hard to rate. At least it is kinda bit the same as you go to a funfair and pay on a booth 2 times for play that game.
I mean all can do it, and the developer might be happy if you do it, because you buy the game two times.
So in substance, as i said, hard to rate.
But i know, why you feeling cheated about it and also i would feel the same. But we have to take a realistic view on it. And realistic, you paid twice, you have double the chance, end.
