As long as your save file is safe, your downloads should stay with you.

Thanks! That's awesome!
That's good to know. Is there a way to backup my save file in case something happens in the future? If so, how can I do it? Any help it's appreciate it.
go to your steam installation and go into your userdata folder. There should just be one folder with a bunch of numbers there. This is your account ID. If you use multiple steam accounts on the same PC, there will be multiple folders here, one for each account you use on the PC. In that case, go into the folder for the account that you play 2K23 on.
Once you're inside your steam account's folder, there will be more folders with lots of numbers. These correspond to whatever games you have installed. The one you're looking for is "1942660". This is WWE 2K23's folder. You can just copy and save this entire folder if you want, but if you want to be economical, all you need to save is the file in the "remote" folder called SAVEDATA.

Thank you for the thorough explanation! Here I was doing it wrong lol
OP, not to act all Alex Jones-ish, but just to add the extra precaution to backing up your files often, if/when the game claims your save is corrupted, don't restart or ever launch it again until you've restored everything with your backup. You should take Steam offline while you replacing them, and while launching the game to check if the restored game cooperated. I "had" 800 hours in creating stuff. When my restore didn't work, in Oct, it was not my first go at saving things correctly. I still blame myself without certainty, but that's difficult between anger and the worst type of bug in any process- a vague bug which erases everything. I haven't opened the last restore I had working afterwards. With the servers off, the save-roulette feels like a stupid game for a stupid prize.
Playing some Path of Exile 2, seeing their trade site.
Makes me think WWE 2K should do similar but with CAWs.

Import and export the caw file, share them via a repository. Then viewing them, someone could create a website to view caws.

This way no insane lag insane slowness the search filters not quite right and so on issues 2K has with CAWs is no more issue. As well as storing the files.
