After fully playing this Nancy game on my own (vs just watching youtubers and streamers) I can actually say I really enjoyed this game.

After the previous game that came out, I was very skeptical. But this game was longer, had so many more puzzles, which most of them were actually pretty advanced. I mean to the point that I HAD to look up the strategy guide for help.

There are a ton of characters in this game too, and they all seem pretty fleshed out. Now the NPCs got on my nerves. There are like, 5 different people that you will keep seeing all over the place, and that makes no sense. I almost wish there were just no NPCs at all. But the main courtyard even with the few randoms still felt a bit empty. Graphics are WAY better than Midnight in Salem, still could use some work.

I do not regret playing it and would still recommend it, maybe on sale. But I will say this is nothing like the original ND games. It is a good and decent game, and if it wasn't tied to the series it would be REALLY good. But can it ever live up to the old games like Shadow Ranch, Blackmoor Manor, or even Message in a Haunted Mansion? No. And to me that is sad. The very old Haunted Mansion game that came out when I was literally too young to even play these and had poor character graphics, in my heart, is still a better and more re-playable game than this.

I feel they are taking these games in a direction that it doesn't need to. There was nothing wrong with the old simple point and click system. I don't need super realistic graphics and tons of explore-able places. Like the old saying, if it isn't broken, DON'T FIX IT!

I am still hopeful and optimistic for the future of Nancy Drew games after playing this one! I really hope the HER Interactive team continues to listen to feedback and make the next game even better. It makes me feel absolutely gutted that the days of a new Nancy game every 6 months or so are gone. We don't need super long games with a bunch of characters, we were perfectly happy with the old games.

Для меня явные минусы: линейность прохождения, не всегда интуитивное взаимодействие с предметами, для некоторых объектов взаимодействия у Нэнси нет никакой реакции, слабый сюжет, мало мини игр вне сюжета.

A long time ago, I played all the Nancy Drew games in a row from pirated discs that my friends gave me. Then I heard the news that because of players like me, the studio went bankrupt and would no longer release games. So, when I grew up and heard that a new installment was coming out, I immediately bought it to support the developers. Thank you for all the games! 💖

Now about the pros and cons of the game.

Pros:
😊 I enjoyed the detective work and the attempts to mislead the player about the culprit's identity.
😊 I liked the characters' motivations and the ending.
😊 The new controls in the game are very user-friendly.

Cons:
🤨 Identical NPC models throughout the city.
🤨 When lockpicking doors with a screwdriver, there was a hairpin animation.

✍️ I would like to have the option to choose what to write in messages to friends.
